Harman Kardon AVR70 + JBL Cinema 500

Hi,

I am keen on setting up a good home theater system. I auditioned the HK AVR70 + JBL Cinema 500 combo and was literally blown away. The store guys had put Matrix (scene where Neo comes in a helicopter to save Morpheus) and I could hear the water splashing, bullet cases falling; all such fine details with crystal clear clarity. The sub was literally shaking the store.

I can get this combo from US for ~45K. Is this a good deal for this AVR and speakers? Are there any better combos at this price range?

A very nice combo and price too.
I have auditioned the combo and is very good product.
Price for AVR was Rs.24000/- then (1 year ago)

I auditioned this at phoenix market city. The H/k + JBL combo starts at 45000 in India. I liked the particulat system.

However, I got AVR1610 from US when my friend was coming down. Now doing a custom speakers with Peerless drivers.

Store guys would give the audition with a high volume irrespective of movie / Song. Always better to listen starting with a low to moderate volume to judge the clarity of Dialogue and sound.

One of my friend was stunned by a sony HTIB in a showroom and got confused when he was blown away by another showroom guy with a Philips HTIB

Hi, the AVR 1610 US spec says it will work only with NTSC videos. How did it perform for you when connected with indian cable or DVD content ?

l have bought JBL CINEMA. 300 from eBay for 29000.00 rupees. It is yet to be delivered. Instead of barman kardon avr 70, I am planning to buy one with Bluetooth and 4 k pass through. Which avr is suitable? I am keen on Yamaha rx. V 479, which has all required features and has been rated high.
