Has anyone travelled from gulf to india after 26 August

hi there

i am currently in Gulf and will be travelling india next month
i wanted to purchase 40 inch LED Smart TV as here its very cheap as compared to India

unfortunately Indian Govt has imposed 36.05% import duty since 26st August 2013

My question is

1. has anyone travelled India after 26 august taking TV ??? any suggestions

2. even if i pay the import duty to customs will the same TV be cheaper than purchasing in India ???

Well...after the duties...I doubt it will be any cheaper, the difference in prices is. Not more than 30%-35%.
Even If it turns out to b 2k-3k cheaper...which I highly doubt.. it's not worth, since thrs no warranty, IMO forget the TV.

If u wana save some dough n don't care about the warranty, but it from grey...easy.
