I am not thrilled with STB quality provided by Hathway. I am wondering if i obtain an overseas HD STB that supports specifically DVB-T, DVB-S (HD),
DVB-C (HD) standards. BIS indian standards require all STB to support DVB-C.

Would an overseas STB work in India?

Even if it is possible, hathway will not install their firmware on the STB you have got from outside.

Migrate to a DTH player - VDH or TS HD. VDH even providing 4k channel now

Does Hathway EVER update the firmware after it sells/installs the HD STB?
My Skyway STB (HDS6300) appears to indicate it still has the original 2-year old firmware.
