Any tips for installing a Jelco tonearm on a L75 more than welcome. Also any thoughts on making the Dual 1237 look better, the plastic wood plinth seems very dated but replacement wooden plinths very expensive. Cheers Andy

A Jelco 9" arm is not a drop-in replacement for the original Lenco arm. You'll need metal cutting tools to create a new hole which matches the Lenxo's spindle-to-arm bearing distance requirements.

Best to install a 12" arm with mounting outside the original Lenco plinth.

The spindle to pivot distance of the original Lenco L75 arm is 211 mm and the tonearm mounting hole in the L75 chassis/ top plate is punched for that. AFAIK , the only Jelco tonearm that is a straight match to this is the SA-250-ST that has the s/p distance of 210 mm. If you wish to use any other
Jelco tonearm of the 9" type you shall have to cut a new hole in the top plate.

I used this Jelco tonearm during my Lenco L75 days. It was a Jelco LAD SA370H and was lovely, it tracked very well and sounded great. I did not mount the tonearm on the L75 chassis, I had it mounted directly on the multi-layered plinth, beside the chassis.

you will need a wooden slab which can be kept on the rear side , either screwed to the plinth at the exact spindle to pivot or on a separate Block.
Example..
I used an external block or a long time till I got a plinth made
