Help for living room setup

Hi,
I need good avr + speakers 5.1 (LCR with surround and sub) for my living room. My usage will be 60% music and 40% movies. My taste of music is mostly techno, but I listen to various styles.

Room size: 18 x 12 feet.

Budget: open for now, will be decided on options I have..but is cap is 2L.

I have got demo. of following speakers:
1. Def. Tech Mythos Six (LR), Seven (C) + gem (surround) + super cube 4000 (sub)
2. Focal Audio SIB XL (5 pieces) + cub 3.


I have got demo. of following AVR:
Pioneer LX56
Denon 2312

All you suggestions are welcome.

My friend has suggested to Velodyne for subs. I am looking for to get them demo'ed.

If music is what your main liking is, then I suggest demo of Marantz AVRs.

there is a maratnz in hifimart itself at lucrative price maratnz 6006 and 5007...
check those.at around 60k range
for music try kef,...obviously wharfedale,usher,dali
yamahas are also good for music.
you can get yamaha 1010 avantage series..at your budget

So is supercude 4000 from Def tech. good for my room size?

I personally loved the blending of deftech speakers with a deftech sub... Btw can u go for the supertowers... Wouldn't a deftech 8020/40/60 towers be better for fronts as u are more music oriented? As just4kik mentioned marantz is a nice musical avr & 6006 is available at the best price right now... If u have space constraint u can also look at the procinema 1000 ... Btw do visit the distributer's demo room in laxmi industrial estate on link road andheri... His demo room is roughly the size of ur room which would give u a good idea how the systems would sound in ur room size... But the distributer offers only a max discount of 10% whereas ur local dealer would offer upto 15%... Btw I would recommend that u buy the avr 1st & take it to demo whichever speakers u like... Best way to be sure...

I took the demo at the same place you mentioned in Andheri and yes the demo room is little big than my room. The guy was not having a proper AVR, he attached the LCR + sub + surrounds to a set of boxes from parasound, I couldn't ask him the details of what each box was about. I certainly would to get the demo of those Mythos six, seven , gem and supercube 2000/4000 with a AVR of Denon, Marantz or Pinoneer.
Towers is a straight no due to space constraints. :sad:
