Hello Guys,

Please help me out!

I am really confused where to place my surround speakers, I have a pair of dali spektor 1 with that I am planning to use as surround but I am struggling to figure out where to mount them, any suggestion or advice would be greatly apperciated.
My current idea is to wall mount in side wall at marked points and angle them down towards the listening position.

**sorry for the mess, i’ve been redoing my small office and turning it into a little 5.2.2 Atmos setup.**

Seeing the picture, the marked points seem too ahead of the seating position. Rear surround should ideally be slightly behind or in line with listening postion. Why not have them on either side of the back window?

if u sit in sofa and watch
place it after the black shelf above head 1/2 to 1feet and tilted at 50-60 degree (right)
(left) parallel to it same height and tilting

My primary seating position is the marked spot, while the sofa against the back wall serves as a secondary position that I use occasionally when watching movies.

On the right side, the fixed bookshelf and office equipment (including a printer) limit available space for speaker placement. This is why l’ve marked the alternative position, which seemed most practical under the circumstances. My primary seating position is the gaming chair I have marked above.

Ear level, left and right side. pointing towards you. call it a day.
I would not worry to much beyond this, honestly.
don't go purist mode.

dont want to hijack this thread..I too thought i will go from 5.1 to 7.1 after 15 years...Are these edifier speakers good enough to go on ceiling? I dont have dedicated HT room and all..so just need speakers that will give me some surround sound...For around 7K post discounts in weekend end sale for a pair..are there any better surround speakers?

I have 13 year old Pioneer 1020K and Andrew Jones Pioneer tall Front and bookshelf back. Got Denon 1700H few years back and frankly I went back to Pioneer as sound seems more powerful. Since I have invested in Denon...thought will go from 5.1 of Pioneer to 7.1 of Denon.
