Hi.
My name is sai. I am looking for a good home theater system for my newly built home. I had been thinking of bose till date. Thank you for the forum members for giving suggestions on bose.

I went thru the forum and read reviews on yamaha 663. I have shortlisted yamaha 665 and now looking for a good speakers.
I prefer small size speakers like bose with good surround sound effect.
I will be using HT system for movies and music (70:30)

I have a budget of 40K for speakers.

My requirements are as follows.

1. Home theater speakers in budget of 40K (bose size 5.1)
2. I gave provision for internal cablings in walls for 7.1 system, at height of 7ft from flooring.
4. The home theater will be in my living room, where we spend most of our time.
5. Room size of of 16x17 ft and mostly empty.
6. Room height is of 11ft.

Request forum members for suggestions. Thank you all.

You can audition the following speaker systems

1. 9.0 Home Cinema Package - Wharfedale
2. Mordaunt Short Genie 5.1 Package
3. Mirage NanoSat 5.1
4. Definitive Pro Cinema Package

However, I highly recommend you also listen to few budget Bookshelf based 5.1 Systems. They can offer vastly superior quality for similar price.

1. Wharfedale 9.1 + 9 CC + 9DFS + SW150 (45K)
2. MS Avant series
3. Polk TSi series
4. Tannoy

I would recommend Energy Take Classic 5.1 Speakers since you are concerned about the size.

However I would also recommend you to audition bookshelf speakers like wharfedale, morduant short, mission etc...

Thanks,
Prakash.

Since you are in Bangalore you can check out these models at Reliance Timeout Cunningham road.

Energy Classic 5.1 - Rs.29,300 before bargaining.
Mirage Nanosat 5.1 - Rs.40000 better speakers and looks beautiful

Nanosat 5.1 Home Theater System - Overview

You go there and audition these speakers(They have it setup in the their audition room) listen to them very carefully ask the person to play the same material on both the speakers and see how it goes.

While you are there you can also checkout the

B&W M series 5.0 speakers for - Rs.70,000

Once you like the speakers ask the sales person to give you a good deal (convince him that you are gonna buy it if he is gonna give a decent deal)bargain well and you will get decent discounts as well

The person I met when I visited was one Mr.Iqbal ask for that chap he was nice and patient.
