Please tell us about the total cost
Hi Bibin/Bijin: can you please post a pic of the back of the grilles?
It was an amazing piece of craftsmanship.
I always amazed by sound signature of Proac and ATC SCM 7/11 speakers. But the cost is keeping me at bay. Is it possible to make similar sounding speakers in India?
Quite impressed with the build quality of your speakers. If you can make a speaker sounding similar to ATC, it would be a privilege for me becoming customer![]()
. Made me think if this was the same pair I heard an hour back.I would rate these better than the Dali's that I auditioned a while back. more, since they costed twice than these beauties.
Hi Glen,Thanked Bibin and Bijin and started home. Reached and hooked them to my AVR, HK 1610. This is when the speakers take a complete 180 degree turn.
The bass produced are 'phenomenal' to say the least. crisp highs and clear mids. Made me think if this was the same pair I heard an hour back.I would rate these better than the Dali's that I auditioned a while back. more, since they costed twice than these beauties.
PS: My AVR has conked off again. Switches off after about 30 mins again. It definitely doesnt like travelling. Have sent it to service again. Fingers crossed.
Thanks,
Glen
Hi Glen,
As you've mentioned "again", I assume that it's a recurreing concern.
Or, is it because of the new speakers? Any impedance overload issues?
Hope your AVR is alright by now!

By turning the mid woofer by 90 degrees the width of the cabinet can be decreased a bit which will give a sleek look to the cabinet.
There is a reason for that, keeping the tweeter and mid-bass as close as possible will improve imaging. The other way can only add up to the cosmetic appeal.
Just saw this. In my opinion, the woofer frame is designed just to accommodate what murali_n is suggesting. If the intention is to bring the tweeter closest to the mid woofer, a better way would've been to make a concave cut on the tweeter mounting plate.
Just some food for thought.
Cutting the face-plate to make it concave is not a better way since it needs to be cut precisely and obviously it demands time and effort. Alternate way is to over lap the woofer's basket over the tweeter.
