I have been using a small Sony Walkman 8gb nwz-A818 player from last few years and was looking to replace it now. In the process I found Sony hi-res players (A20 & A30 series) and looks quite tempting with expandable storage and bluetooth, both these features missing in A818.

However, the major let down in proprietary USB cable in Sony players, I will prefer something with a standard micro-usb cable. Any suggestions?

Also, how much better these hi-res players sound compared to normal player - do you think the difference between A818 and any new high res player will be night and day? I will be using it with my Bose QC25 and QC20 headphones.

Thanks

Anything with Fiio or Cayin should be a good choice. Some of them have bluetooth as well if you so need

In my experience with DAPs, there is no night and day difference. However, they do have slightly better dynamics and resolution for better quality music (FLAC 44/16 and above) and, more importantly, tend to play more variety of file types.

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
