was informed by Mr. Prabhu Ganesh ([email protected]) the official Indian dealer of Hiface that they would soon be launching the M2tech Young Dac in India...
here is an excerpt of his mail...
We are a launching the M2tech Young Dac in India, in coming weeks - for the best possible price/performance ratio and sits up with the some of the best DAC in the world including
Benchmark's and Antelope Audio, which cost atleast 3 times more, that too with no chinese part and fully manufactured in Italy it will be priced under Rs 45,500 (which i believe is the cheapest in the world).

has anyone heard the aforementioned DAC?..

The product is priced at $1799 on Amazon (Amazon.com: M2 Tech Young 384/32 D/A Converter: Electronics), so I don't understand how it can be sold at 45K in India.

The product specs are very impressive - 32 bit and 384 through USB. We have to wait and see if it actually delivers. Ironically there is no music with those specs. The max you can get is 24/96.

Cheers

i just received this mail from Mr Prabhu Ganesh....

"Nice to hear from you, this is an introductory price - since we are launching it in India for the first time, yes it is Rs 45.5 K (Currently our price seem the chepeast for this world class DAC hand built in Italy).
We have limited units reserved for this promotion, do let us know soonest if you are interested."

interested ones could perhaps mail Mr Ganesh and find out more...

Actually there's toms of 24/192 music available for downloads on various classical sites.

Except the last line which states " the max you can get is 24/96"! Which is the point I was addressing.

I read on computer audiophile and interpreted that first batch was faulty and replacements were being shipped - Young DAC- M2Tech 384khz, Async USB. | Computer Audiophile

Can we verify if the first batch is being sold in India at introductory price?

thanks Anm for bringing that up..
i was informed by Marco Manunta of HiFace that Mr Ganesh was the official dealer..
also i feel that a DAC of the type and quality in question is a niche product and anyone contemplating to buy it would have done his/her homework (especially since it is so easy to ferret out information from the net)..
i would therefore consider it very foolish of any dealer/manufacturer to dump products of such suspicious quality on an informed and enlightened clientele no matter where they are based..(i would therefore assume that even though the first batch of the DAC maybe up for sale, they couldn't possibly be faulty)
having said that let me also mention that stranger things have happened..
anyway one could always get the matter confirmed from mr ganesh whose email features in the initial post of this thread...

thanks Moktan. I thought it would be good to share with this forum as well. And in case you have already asked Ganesh about it, then it would save some effort from his and everyone else's part.

did anyone had a demo?

i have made mr ganesh aware about the discussion here about his product..

[I dont have the DAC. I was asking whether it is better. Presently some DACs are quite popular on the forums

Burson Audio
Wyred4sound
Eastern Electric
Skyla

Since we dont have dealers in india, its proving a major hurdle to audition them

isn't the skyla is available in India with Sridhar

will blow the crap out of everything else discussed here until now
