Hey,

I have a quite old (10yrs) Harman Kardon AVR 635 which I was not using for last 2-3 years due to space and time limitation.

Recently I started setting my dedicated HT and plugged in AVR after long time. It seems to have developed a very peculiar problem of short term memory loss. Every time I power-off the mains all settings made in that session are lost and it reverts back to older settings. Please note it doesn't factory resets but only loses the new settings.

Is there any easy fix for this problem?

Thanks

_Rahul.

i had a similar problem with my yamaha avr. the backup memory battery was replaced and is working well after that

Unfortunately, as per service manual, my AVR has a "0.047 Farad 5.5v capacitor" instead of battery? Anyone know if this will be user replaceable.

Hi

I am sure such capacitors are available in India, perform a google search...it would yield some solutions..

I had a harman avr 2000 before, I had the similar problem and I remember the service person told me that he changed the battery. Did u try opening it?
