Hi........ Everyone.
I am from kolkata. I want to buy a hometheater setup.

My budget is 20k. This is only for Movie. I already have a seperate stereo setup for Music.

please help me to find a good ht within the budget.

You need to expand budget to 25k & you can get Onkyo 3200.

First of all thanks for your reply. I visited e-zone(kolkata) last sunday. The sales man suggest me Onkyo hts 3100( Rs. 21600.00). It has every thing same as 3200 except HDMI input. Can you put some highlight on this HTIB.

Hi,
I would strogly suggest you go for onkuo 3100 or 3200 by stretching a little extra from 20k. These Onkyo's are the next leap from the Philips 3571. You wont regret it. Hear both options and then decide for yourself.
Regds,

Nothing wrong in buying last yr model.I did the same.I got HTS-580 when new model was available with component swiching.I compared both & found earlier was better in specifications of amp,THD,even subwoofer design(I preferd down firing to newer front firing)

Any one in this forum using Onkyo hts 3100 or hts 3200. I want to know pros and cons of thease av receivers.

How about Sony HTSS360. I called Sony world in bangalore, but they say that there are no Blu ray home theatres. Only Blu ray players are available. hence checking from amazon or 20north to see if i can purchase Sony HTSS360 Blu Ray home theatre

Go for Philips 3571

Real Value for Money .... @ 15K
Sound Quality can give Onkyo a run for it's money
Needless to mention it's a DVD player also

2 Aux inputs + 1 CoAx + 1 Optical + 1 mp3 link (ipod) will serve every purpose....

Hi Avi,
Optimus has not commented on this thread since 12th Dec 09. So I am not sure if he is reading these posts since then.

BTW see how impressions change after auditons... my earlier comment on this thread actually suggested Optumus to go for Onkyo5100 /3200 HTIB (My assessment was based on various features like speaker-setup, Audessy auto-caliberation etc.). After hearing 3571, these features seemed so ineffective.

I hope Optimus auditions Onkyo & Philips both and then decides... (boy am I feeling guilty of suggesting the entry level Onkyo?)
