Was looking to upgrade my now seemingly pathetic Onkyo HTS3400 and got an offer on Quad Lite. Had a Demo, and though they definitely sound great but to be honest do not really know whether they are worth the moolah that is being asked. Though I have already paid but havent yet taken delivery so can still opt out. So any feedback/suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Btw Floorstanders/Bookshelves a[IMG2][/IMG2]re not an option.

I've heard Quad speakers and found them good... a bit quirky in terms of placement and room space but otherwise the SQ was great and on par with the other in that budget like Dali, MA, etc.

However, I'm not sure about the soundbar (Lite seems one). I've heard soundbars and none of them really gave me the 5.1/7.1 effect.

I have not auditioned the Quad's But is very highly regarded speaker in the forum.

Yup, not only in this forum but even the general consensus is the same, just that TBH have not heard many 1L speaker setups hence not sure whether they are worth the money/value for money or not.

See at the end as a Middle Class Indian, value for money is very important,

No, Quad L-ITE is a 5.1 speaker setup.

There were few Quad owners who were quite contributing on hfv a year ago. Even I didn't get much response on my 22l2 thread. Its strange to find no detailed reviews on big brand quad here.

I saw the Quad L-ite package quoted 116,000 in an Indian store website, not sure which one. The star of the package is the sub, which notably weighs 28 kgs!!

a smaller version of 11L2 with 4" bass/mid driver with the same tweeter as 11/12L2. A nice neat balanced system for small to semi medium room. Sub does the main hard work to yield the value to this system & also create the dynamic behavior.

UK retail price is 1099.95 but available at 899.95 with a lil less than 20% discounted. Indian price appears competitive.

Yup that is the MRP of the package, though would be getting some discounts.

Are you speaking from experience???? Because otherwise I have read the reviews (a few that are available that is), seen the UK price, also seen the discounts being given in UK, :p

TBH, the reason I am looking for opinions is because I liked them, but at this price I was expecting to be blown away, :p, which I was not.

Did you go ahead with your purchase????

Quad 22L2 (not sure Quad lite) speakers are great speakers in the range. Was considering them strongly while deciding on speakers ( waa a tough decision between MA vs Quad)- mid range is very good, very neutral un coloured sound but finally settled for MA as I found bass/lower end a tad lighter side + sensitive to placement due to rear port.
Must say its personal choice- you need to hear and decide - opinion is quite divided on Quad vs MA.

Quad 22L2 are floorstanders whereas Quad Lite is a 5.1 speaker package which has satellite speakers (though some website mention them as BS as well, but they are small to be called as BS speakers IMO). And yes even they are rear ported.

I haven't a foggiest clue what's the degree of your "blown away" but these are Quad - robust & a composed lot with only a 4" bass/mid driver so they won't overdo what they're designed for and certainly won't shake an arm & a leg .. ;)

If you need that, look elsewhere.

A bit late but I am a 22L2 owner, if you are still looking for info.
Very nice speakers. But when Quad went out of business (can't quite figure out if they are still with us or not) many of the speakers were sold wholesale and can be gotten at low prices. While the box, speakers and crossover are Quad the internal wiring was low grade. I bought such a pair and redid the intenal wiring with better cardas wire. huge difference and now sounds like the great reviews of them from 5 years back.,
