I am planning to buy
1.Epson EH TW 480
2.Tata sky HD set top box
3. Creative E 6000 2.1 speaker
4. Sony DVPSR 760 DVD Player
Can you guys please explain me preferably with a schematic diagram how to connect them?
Do I need HDMI splitter?
Do I need RCA to USB cable?
Regards

Hv you already bought Creative E6000 2.1 speaker set? What are the available audio connection options on that? Suggest to pick an AVR if budget permits as that will have many choices.

The diagram solely depends on what E6000 2.1 unit can do in terms of input connections as your setup requires audio to be processed from 1. Set top box and 2. Sony DVD player unless you want to settle with Default Audio of TW480 for either Settop box or DVD Player. Of course if you like to fiddle with wires every time you want to use either of them you can connect/disconnect but that will be a bit of hassle in real life.

In any case, a HTML splitter makes life easy in terms of keeping the wires undisturbed once they are setup and using splitter to choose which one you want to view. This is more a convenience and most people prefer than changing connections everytime they want to switch the source.

I am assuming you do not want to fix any other video viewing device like TV to your setup.

Give these kind of details to help with.

Creative e 2600 is having both RCA as well as 3.5 pin as input. I really liked the tonal quality compared to Fenda a555u, iball4.1, Philips, sony and Edifier. The bass was just soothing and not over powering. I think it will be sufficient for a 30x20 room for mainly movies. Please help me with the diagram.
Regards

Just to be clear, i presume the RCA is for audio input and the 3.5pin is to hook up satellite speakers (i may be wrong, please check user manual of E2600).

See the attached diagram if E2600 really can accept audio from two different sources..

If the image is not clear download the original from here

Dear,
I can not thank you enough for the beautiful diagram. Incidentally, today I went to buy the Sony dvpsr760. The shopkeeper told me that it can not play all CDs, especially those pirated DVDs. I stay in a countryside and there is no chance that I can get original English movies here. Is it true that it can not play some CDs? He suggested me to buy Blue ray player.
Another thing, if the 3.5 port is meant to hook up the satellites then can I use RCA hub for Tata sky and DVD player?

Yes you can use a RCA hub/splitter to share RCA connection between DVD Player and Tatasky box.

As far as I know, all pirated cd/dvd will be regionfree and should be playable on any dvd. But usually they are available on cheap media which may present some problems while playing. So shopkeeper might be suggesting from his experience but his suggestion might not be related to the security/protection applied to CD/DVDs to prevent piracy.

Having said that bluray player is much better than a sole DVD player in the sense that it makes the item sort of future proof as it can play anything that you can throw at it. If you have budget choose a bluray player which has a USB port that can accept usbstick/external harddrive which will also act as a Mediaplayer for your setup.

Also curious to know what prompted you to take EPSON 480 when there is a good amount of discussion on this forum about some excellent models like ACER H5730BD (which is lot cheaper than EPSON 480) if your preference is bulb based projector??

Use 'Thanks' button if what am posting is helpful :)

Thanks again for your informative reply. I am actually a computer illiterate ( by profession a cancer surgeon). I have learnt the basics myself. Now please let me know, what are the main difference between Epson 480 and Acer. My budget is around 50 to 55 for projector, home theater speakers and a sensible DVD player along with a 6x4 instaloc screen. I am getting Epson for 40k. If Acer is better and cheaper, then I do not mind at all. Creative e2600 is 3700. Screen is 3000(technik). DVD player is still at limbo. If you can suggest me any other better combination, I am game.
Regards
