Incredible improvement after reconnections

Hi all

I recently made the following changes to my av system which resulted in a massive sonic improvement: changed to all HDMI ( ps3 to av receiver) as opposed to an optical connection previously. Terminated speaker ends to avr with banana pin connectors. Changed front speaker wire to Monster cables. I guess these subtle changes have made a very noticeable difference to overall cohesion and clarity in sound.

i have a doubt. out of these two popular connection methods, which one is best?
1. the wire is inserted in the slot and tighten the screw - (without a banana)
2. Using banana pins

lots of people say 1 is better. personally i dont find a difference.
