I am on a long trip in Eastern Europe and will be returning after a couple of weeks. I have found here in an old music shop a stock of almost new vinyls of Beatles and Pink Floyd.

I already have the complete set of Beatles albums and I am not a big fan of Pink Floyd however I can carry some of these vinyls with me if anyone is interested. The cost for each vinyl is about 400 INR (it would have been cheaper if the rupee had not fallen to such an extent). I can not promise but if my baggage permits, I'll be happy to help fellow forum members.

OK am IN and very glad that you are being so selfless .... though I dont have a TT .. I think I can gift it to my bro who listens to vinyls.. can you give a list of give me an alternative to call or talk to you.. not the regular fone ofourse... any chance you can post pics & links ???

I'll go to that shop sometime in the next week. I found it while I was strolling today in the afternoon. Unfortunately I don't have any photos or links. I'll try to post a list of the titles available, next week.

Dang it.... anywho.. I ll try andcheck what my brother doesnt have.. He is interested in JAZZ and blues!!! so. something rare.....that he would appreciate.. I can always go for a couple of records... btw will it be easy to courier them to Hyderabad> AP??

Sir how much will the complete Beatles set cost? More importantly can I bother you to carry so much weight? Ate these used or new?

I have been consistently unlucky with Beatles records. I have most of the albums but they all sound crap. I have even bought doubles in the fond hope the second one at least will sound decent but they also sound equally crappy. I have given up and stopped buying Beatles records.

PS: I reread your post.. .. almost new it said. Mono records of Beatles would be even more welcome.:) As long as they look to be in fine condition, all available Beatles albums wanted

Among the vinyls there are just Beatles and Pink Floyd in English. Rest all is in the local languages. No jazz or blues that I could find. THe shopkeeper says that the condition is almost new though I have not yet seen them. I already have a lot of technical stuff that i'll be carrying along, so I don't think I can carry a full set or too many of these vinyls.

Hi there,

having been to East Europe a few times, I can tell you need to be sure that these are not local pressings. Like Polish or Yugoslavia or Czech. I have got a few and they really do not sound that great. If they are German, it is all ok.

Also, if they are brand new there is a good chance they might be pirated. There are lot of pirated/bootlegged copies in the market in Europe which sell for around $10.

One can find these pirated copies in almost all flea markets (and some small stores) in any major European city, especially in Berlin which has some of the best flea markets in Europe. I even found a lot of them in Spain and Barcelona too. So they are widely circulated in Europe.

I am still not sure about the country of origin. I'll keep this in mind and check the origin of the vinyls before buying.

could you check if they have "the division bell" by pink floyd. most of the copies which turn up on ebay etc. seem to be bootlegged versions. if they seem genuine i would appreciate if you pick up a copy if possible. thank you.
