With most of the new animation movies now only coming in 3D, it has become imperative for me to acquire a set of 3D glasses for my 4 year old son, the ones given at the theatre are too big for him and he gets irritated as a result...now there are stuff available in ebay and amazon, but just wondering what kind of 3d glasses to get which will work in the indian theatres? is there a specific technology or any passive glass will work? will the ones from RealD work here?

So it's not just me who went through this! My kid is now 6 yrs old but I faced this when my son was around 4 yrs. And I tried many things to solve this. I remember that during his first 3D movie, I had to make him sit on my lap and hold the 3D glasses in front of his face for almost 90 minutes !!!
After that I tried my neighbor's headband so that I can push the frame of the glasses into it, but unless it's a tight fit, it would not work at all and the glasses keep falling off. I also tried watching a movie from the 10th row so that my son has to look up instead of in front and the glasses would rest naturally on his face. Works but is tiring. Finally what worked for me was a regular tight fit cap. The glasses fit perfectly in the cap and we watched quite a few superhero/animation movies using a good fit cap!

1. Buy 3D glasses from the multiplex staff (officially???) for Rs.100/-
2. Go to a spectacles shop and buy a frame of kid's size.
3. Ask the seller to take out the glass from 3D glasses you got from multiplex, cut it and fit it in kid's size frame.
I have done 1st step and yet to do 2nd and 3rd step.
