KODI player setup for audio and movies

Dear FMs,
Since my Raspberry Pi stopped working, I am looking for a similar, more reliable alternatives where I can play movies on Kodi (from NAS) with HDMI out to my TV, and music with digital out (coaxial/USB) to my dac+preamp. I dont want a large footprint OS and more power consuming media player in the chain.
What are the best options suitable for my requirements?

NUC option seems to be best but its pricy I guess.

Not really. You only need a celeron which costs less than 10k for the nuc itself, + some other bits which could even be repurposed from an old.laptop

Android media players cost anywhere between 1.5k to 10k depending on what features you want. Kodi works great on those.

Why not pick a New Pi? You know its capabilities and performance, unless you are looking for more.

Android TV Box would be best.. Not aware of its NAS capabilities.. But will get you flexibility w.r.t connectivity.. HDMI, co-axial/Optical, USB..

There are some models aval on amazon.in bet 3 - 7K INR..

Use Kodi media player & make the right audio settings in it to enable bit-stream/passthrough to AVR..

You can connect HDMI to pc monitor, Make sure you have it set in the AVR to HDMI pass through and also select the right input source the computer is using.

Yes.. enabling bit-stream/passthrough sends the source "2.0 / 5.1 or more" as is to AVR ..
