Hey folks, i see a white line appearing in my 9 years old LG 55" tv. It started appearing today morning. It looks like showing up from inside, i don't see any visible damage from outside. Attached the image for reference.

Obviously, i will reach out to LG support but wanted to get some idea about this before a technician visit my place.

Looks like a crack in light diffuser sheet. Very common in edge lit TVs due to concentration of heat/light at the bottom. IMO 9yrs is a good time for a TV upgrade 😏

It happens when the screen eperiences physical impact /pressure ( someone presses hand/palm while cleaning / shifting or kids being kids)

Thank you. Is this repairable :DPlanning to do some interior changes. Don't want to upgrade until then. Any idea how much LG charge for repairing this?

The diffuser sheet is a part of the panel itself so changing the panel is the way to go. I wouldn't recommend it though for a 9 yr old one, just use it till the replacement TV arrives.

Sent the same photo to LG service technician. Got an immediate response that they don't have the part available and won't get it. I think i have to start exploring new TV. 🕺
