I have got my unit delivered yesterday and I quickly mounted it on my tripod to test how it works. The setup is a breeze and you can get into action under 5 mins.

This is more an out of the box setup projected on bedroom wall (cream color) between 10am-12pm with window covered and room door wide open. There is enough light in room and I have uploaded the photos of setup taken without flash.

Every setting on the projector left untouched except the lamp saving level which i kept at Medium (default is maximum meaning slightly dim picture but not that much, see the photo)

I have downloaded few video samples from Video Samples | DivX.com and from you tube to view off a USB Stick.

This is basically to visualise how the projector does and everyone else can easily compare to the original work (one should download these locally and watch it over a PC to come to conclusions). This is something I was missing in this forum... In all reviews the pictures uploaded are good but against what source they are shown as uploaded is something
not clear which i tried to fix here.

I have also taken a video out of couple of files which i uploaded to you tubewhich gives a fair idea of how the experience is, the audio is right outof the projector which is sort of ok but no where near any quality audio system like a AVR (which is obvious) but is sufficient for a couple to watch a movie in bedroom with every other noise suppressed.

Please do not come to conclusions (that this projector is not worth) after watching video/photos as the actual quality is at least 3x better. If they are not acceptable one should blame basically my photographic skills/capabilities and inability of the equipment used (galaxy s2) to record the picture at realistic quality level than what got projected on wall.

LGPA70G-Balu-test vedio1 - YouTube (the big noise around 45sec due to my son dropping something)
LGPA70G-Balu-test-Vedio2 - YouTube

I have watched a full length movie last night in total dark and the experience is awsome, there is a definite 'wow' feeling to watch at home that big picture (around 100inch) so clear.

The projector does all this silently (no noticable noise of fan etc) and it kept itself cool. I immediately switched off and can put it inside its pouch after the movie i.e., after a continuous operation of nearly 3-4 hours. I have not taken any pictures last night as I would like to test it in day light and upload pictures.

I have hooked it up to my videocon d2h hdmi source and the quality of output is very good. The HD channels are shown with ease and are clear. I am sure if I project this against a screen it will
be even better.

Sources of some of the pictures are from the below files which can be googled around/you tubed easily. Wings to Paradise 1 of 2 1080p HD.mp4,
h264_720p_hp_3.1_600kbps_aac_mp3_dual_audio_harry_potter.mkv

I have not tested anything specific to 3D as I dont have glasses etc to test it. I have also not tested stuff by hooking this to my PC graphic card. So will upload if I find something useful.

Hope this helps and please feel free to throw any questions you may have..

Cost 53k, they are acceptable.. Look at youtube video2 above.. It has first few frames black.. That's exactly how it appeared.. I will test when i have my projector screen setup..

I didnt yet, I have just ordered Sainsonic 3D glasses from US and they might arrive in about couple of weeks..

The manual says any DLP-Link glasses will work with this and the 3D stuff should work normal @1024x768 resolution from a competent PC/device. I understand there is no conversion sort of thing (like 2d-3d etc) exists in this projector.

So what gets given as input gets displayed is what my understanding is.. but will post more when I really test 3D stuff..

Hope this helps

Re: LGPA70G Impressions - Updated 17/2

I got my Sainsonic 3D glasses delivered to me and did some testing with the projector for 3D.

The projector is kind of 3D Ready and doesnt have any in built 3D functions (other than choosing 3d on/off), meaning it throws a 3D image if its processed elsewhere (PC etc) and given as signal via HDMI/RGB @120Hz vertical. It does this at 1024x768 resolution as stated in manual.

The supported format is Frame Sequential (which most of the 3D players anyway provide) and with PC its quite easy to get this output format.

I have used Stereoscopic player to throw content at projector and it worked flawlessly. (You need to select software pageflipping as viewing method under view menu)

The 3D glasses are DLP-Ready and got synced effortless and the experience is amazing. I have a subquality 3D content and not original, original would have been stunning in my opinion.. Am on the way to buy some good 3D titles :ohyeah:

End of the day, am a happy customer and is doing what is stated :yahoo: :yahoo: :clapping::clapping:

Hope this is useful, any questions please shout.

Is it same as PA75U which is available in US? Specs looks same, except that it does have an internal tuner and wifi. If this projector is good for dark room viewing, I am thinking of importing PA75U from US, which is available for 540USD

I think so, I have gone for bill and warranty as items bought in US may not be covered in India (just in case).. Mine has a 3 year warranty which I believe is a key parameter when it comes to indian conditions.
I am finding it ok even during day time with curtains on (its not dark by any standard), so if you make the room dark then this projector will do very well.

You can see some models and reviews here

Though the Lumens are quite high but that's coming at an astronomical price.. Ofcourse its just my view after going through some quick reviews. Please spend sometime in going through what you need and the capabilities of different models and depth of your pocket.

Posting some images from famous movie "Casablanca" for black and white impressions and 2 test patterns. For LG PA 70G.
My screen is 7 x 5 drawing paper. The diagonal is 100 inch.
