Living room speakers dilemma

So then I guess soundbar is the best option that you later just sell when you move to full HT or use in the bedroom. There is a Boston acoustics soundbar on HiFi mart that is decent.

Otherwise you will have to buy active speakers that dont need an AMP/AVR which will anyway not be future proof..

Or if you are sure of going for a full HT later anyway, u can start buy buying an AVR and 2.0 speakers now, but that will need at least 45k budget.

My budget is 15K only as of now,so no chance of getting an avr.
Will most probably get a soundbar or a good 2.1 premade package.

One sentence odd advice: don't waste money on half baked system.

Fully agree, all short term purchases are useless, waste of money.. better to scrimp & save & build full system slowly..

So that is why I'll get the best 2.1 setup for 15K and later when I get the home theater I will use this for my PC

For PC, there is no need of a 15k speaker system. What a PC needs is a quality pair of headphones. For good sound from PC, feed the PC audio to a DAC/AVR. Besides why clutter the PC workbench?

One thread is enough please. It keeps the data in one place. Hope you understand.

So what do you suggest I get then?
I've got only 15K at my disposal for a set of speakers for TV

I guess I have not been very clear. I am saying, do nothing right now. Save the money. Save some more and when ready buy a system that will meet your complete needs. Unless you have tons of bluray's (and DVDs) in your collection, you can line with TV sound right now. Don't bet on good surround sound from DTH movies.

That is the problem,I have almost 1TB of movies and tv shows and I am kind of a movie buff.
My TV is a 64inch behemoth so I have to put that screen to good use.

Re: 2.1 Setup for 15K

Safely go with Klipsch Promedia or Edifier C3 among your options, you will not be disappointed. These two will provide much better overall sound quality than the Logitech and will be loud enough, not just for TV but movies as well.

But the issue with these PC speakers is that they are near field monitors so listening distance should be less than 5 feet but my listening distance is almost 15 feet.

For such a long viewing distance the Edifier C3 would be a better choice, the other speaker's left and right speakers are most suited for near field use but C3's speakers would be fine for any type of use.

What about the Corsair SP2500.I've been reading great reviews for it.
Also the Edifier S730 seems to be good.

I am specifically looking at the S730
Any idea about it?

The S730 is the bigger brother of C3, sound signature should be similar. Unlike a lot of other computer speakers with these you will get proper mids and highs as well. And, for a viewing distance of 15 feet S730 or C3 will probably be better than others. You could spread the satellites a little perhaps.
Have not heard the Corsairs so can not comment, but the reviews are good.
