LM 3886 chipamp project completed

Thanks Siva.
There are no engineering drawings or printable image files available, i just saw few pictures of cabinets which other DIYrs have done, but i followed a different design. This cabinet can be replicated but one needs a good workshop & knowledgeable person who works on it. This cabinet has 48+ threaded holes & threading those holes was a difficult task, took 2 days to complete. By looking at the picture what i have posted one can get an idea of building a similar cabinet.

My cabinet material is 1mm thick so difficult to couner sink a screw.

That build is simply stunning - Congratulations!

Is there any way you can offer identical cases/panels to DIYers? Engineering drawings, e.g. as plain printable image files, would be highly welcome, too.

(The only thing I might do differently is to use CSK profile (conical head) Allen-head bolts to fasten the top panel to the side panels - with a CSK profile drilled into the top panel to the correct depth to allow flush-mounting the bolts. This is used by Cambridge Audio, but with standard philips-head screws with a CSK profile, as well as 8Audio. I'll post pics of a cloned 8Audio case (almost completed) shortly to show the idea.)

I'm also getting stainless-steel feet fabricated, but may switch to aluminium as you have done, depending on the pricing.

Thanks spirovious, to me, amp sounds more clear and clean than my Technics & Yamahas as there are no tone controls, mid is more pronounced. But i feel bass is lacking on some CD's & i am not disappointed with this build  Spoken to siva on opamp upgrades.

Regards,
Anil

Very nice built, how do you define the sound?

Hi Raghu, it's a 300VA 24-0-24V 10A, cost Rs 1800.

Looking professional and beautiful. Perfect build. :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:
I have procured all the parts except power supply board for my LM3875 build.
Got custom made (2 x 0-25v @7Amps each and 0-12v@1amp) Toroidal transformer from EMD Hyderabad. Your R-Core transformer looks EMD make, what about the power rating and pricing?

Thank you
Raghu

Anil,

Congratulations!! Nice Solid piece of gear. I remember seeing it in a bare bones state , maybe about a year back. Well somethings are worth doing slowly and nicely...

Your effort need no explanation. Simply great. :clapping:

Job well done. Could use a piece of aluminium bar and join it to all heat sinks after applying thermal compound and then mounting the amp module to the bar will help in better heat transfer along with visual appeal I guess.

Good craftsmanship. A video with the amp and speakers in action would be really cool.

Good quality construction..
Where did you get milling done ? can you post details about costing.
