Looking for speakers..Suggestions please..

Have a look at KEF Q300 Bookshelf Speakers.. Great Value for Money..
Bose 301 Speakers are fantastic for medium sized rooms..
U can also jump in for Pioneer Vintage HPM Speakers (HPM 300, 500, 700, 900) wich are of another league..
Or U can assume Vintage JBL L Series Speakers (L80, L96, L100) wich are awesome.

Did few more things to organize the living room with AV equipment..

Was using a pair of portable TV stand to hold the Klipsch BS until sometime back.. Since i changed the speakers, though to reuse the stands in a better way..

Rs 450/- per piece..

Now the PC is wall mounted slightly above one of the subwoofer..

In similar fashion, made an other 12mm plywood to support AVR dimension, mounted slightly above an other sub..

Yes do try it. Placing a mat underneath of its a down firing or down ported sub, can act as an absorber. Audyssey picks a 2-3db drop with a jute rug in my room. My sub is down firing, down ported pioneer. It helps with getting rid of boominess.

Taga Platinum SW-10 Version 2 isn't downfiring, there is no port at the base of the sub. @elangoas may please elaborate why he using mat, purely for the looks?

It is rear ported sub..

Not for looks.. It is a Rs 35/- floor mat.. If the sub had rubber feet, wouldn't have used the floor mats..

Since the sub has metal spike, used the floor mat to avoid rattling noise..

Oh okay. In that case not so effective, however placing a rug would still help in keeping the sub from moving around when played at higher volumes.

Do try it, costs nothing. You can also try plugging the bass port if you experience too much boom in the room.

What rattling noise are you getting due to the spikes?
FM magma has spike feet which would be a good option. Don't remember the price, though. Definitely more expensive than the mat :).

No noise in particular.. But to avoid any vibrations (if any) of metal spikes in contact with tiled flooring during movie/music playback..

An other convenient thing using floor mat is, you can just drag the mat with sub on it & dust the wall to the sides of the sub (living room)..

Thanks.. Looks nice.. But, mat is more convenient..
