Hi guys

Need ur input about these speakers.

Or similar offers in range of sub-1lac.

Thanks

RX6 n e day.........heard dem at Denny, Bass N Treble, Rohini, Delhi.....fell in love.... the moment he played dem.........the other pair being Quad 22L...........which is equally good but not as open as RX6..........my personal view.
BTW, my friend Sid purchased RX8 for 1.02L .........RX6 should be around 80-85k, better check the latest price list.
Final decision should be urs.........Trust nothing but ur ears.......u might like Quad 22L as music is very personal.
Haven't heard PSB or KEF......so cant comment.
Thanks and regards......Inder

+1 to Inderbirsingh The clarity of RX6 is out of the world and that is #1 on my list for now Going to compare them with Polk RTi A7/A9. Has anyone auditioned these speakers?

Why don't you ask for a home audition of all the three with your electronics? Thats the only way to know which one floats your boat.

One thing is for sure - monitor audio speakers need a warm amp. Else they can quickly become chalk on a blackboard. Same holds true for the KEFs as well to a smaller extent.

among the 3, I'd go with PSB but like ROC says, it would depend on the electronics you are pairing them with...

+1 to ma rx6. the bass on the rx8 tends to be a bit boomy due to the addition of an extra woofer so watch out for that if youre considering it. if you dont mind spending a bit more the usher 718 is really good value for money

My electronics is in my signature : Emotiva USP-1 preamp and XPA-2 power amp.

thanks

Ive heard both and both have their type of sound. Psb T6 has a nice lively warm sound with exciting bass, MA RX6 has a very monitor like sound which might sound dull depending on your taste with a recessed bass. But the MA tweeter paired with the correct amplifier can do wonders.

The emotiva pairs well with the psb , i did my demo with a Emo upa-2. If your budget allows listen to the psb synchrony one its a truly special speaker.

if youre in mumbai
jaibirs ( offer for his used q900 is excellent)
don tknow if its sold though

At that price, consider importing Salk SongTowers (ST) from US. Will be FAR better than any of these. The MA RS6 (older version of RX6) I heard was ok, but a bit bright and had a narrow soundstage. I actually preferred the Polk Rti A9 over RS6 - had a pretty wide soundstage but even this was a bit bright for my taste.

The ST are at a different level and fare better than several mainstream speakers twice their price, including the likes of B&W, Focal, Paradigms. It may be almost impossible to listen to them for audition as they not sold through dealers, only direct. But you can check out its thread on avsforum and its dedicated forum on audiocircle.

Salk Signature Sound

Basically so two new speakers are added to list :

Usher BE-718
Salt SongTowers (price 1899 $ + shipping +customs)

With two old ones running close :
MA RX6
PSB T6

Pls note I cant audition any of these speakers here in my city.

Would need more input from you guys,

regards

If you like musical/enjoyable warm sound than heavily how the speaker measures you should give the focal chorus a listen also.

Can someone tell me which brand that i can audition locally sounds close to salk songtowers?... they have great reviews but reviews just tell you part story ... audition gives you the real picture.

I recently checked out some speakers just for fun, listened to B&W CM9, Paradigm 100, Focal 836v. Out of these, liked the Focals the best, though I am no fan of its 'chevron' styling. But none of these were even close to my Salk SongTowers, even though all 3 above were about 50% more expensive. And from what I remember of RS6, its not even a fair comparison. Haven't heard the Usher or PSB.

FWIW, I had a difficult time getting to audition the Salks even in US, India may well be impossible. I therefore bought them without even hearing them (even though its not really recommended) - haven't regretted it a bit, except getting the next series for even better performance lol.

Spidey

I just auditioned the Focal 726v today and found them to be better than Kef Q 700/ Elac/AE/Polk RTi A7. Havent heard 826V but have read only good reviews about them

I am now going to audition Focal 726V along with RTi A9/RTi A7 will post once its done

Dear @olly and @audiodelic,

our journeys are leading to same speakers.
Lets compare notes, suggest each other and even form a group buy if we zero in on one.

Two speakers ideal for group buy would be Focal 826 and Image T6.

lets see

Hi Spidey,

I am game - Focal 826 V is over 1 lac but 726V is well within my budget. If we can get more folks added in the group buy then we can should be in a position to bargain for a great deal. So if any one is interested please join the group. So far its 3 for a Group Buy Spidey/audiodelic/Olly42

Good Day

the psb image t6 looks lovely. how much does it cost? (in delhi) and which amp would suit it best?

and i read that this unit plays trance well. is that true?

thanks

PSB Image T6 retails at 87K and it pairs very well with NAD amplifiers, particularly, NAD C356BEE and in AVR NAD T757.
