What is the main difference between these two receivers?

Any notable difference in sound quality specially in stereo mode?

Hi

I would anyday trip on the Marantz...better built quality and components...

The Denon apparently seems to have a better Audessey calibirator....

You can pose the same questions separately in the Denon and Marantz Owner threads asking the question around Stereo performance and what is the WOW factors in each of them,...

If you audition the same content on both AVRs i am sure you will get to know the signature performance difference....bottom line you are the end user....

if you really give your ears to them, you might notice that the Marantz provides a fuller sound to esp music (ie, lows reproduced well) while denon seems to taper off before touching the low like the former. though you might hear a little more clarity in the highs of denon. other than this, the Marantz could sound to you a bit 'neutral'. personal audition of both (even if not the exact models you mentioned) is highly recommended!

Marantz SR7011 will always sound better than Denon AVR x4300h as it is the higher model in D&M product lineup. Marantz Amplifier are always know for their better musical production in stereo mode than Denon. Technically, Marantz have HDAM pre-amplifier module which is borrowed from Marantz well known Pre-Power set , certainly make better musical performance. I personally audition Marantz SR6011 and Denon AVR x3300 in past and assure you that SR6011 sounds better than x3300 in stereo listening experience.

Of course marantz is in higher side, but specwise is almost same ...and also heard marantz have better sound quality than denon..

Ok.. Sometime back, few FM enlightened that Marantz SR 6011 is based on Denon x 3300 and Marantz SR 7011 is based on Denon x 4300..

So if they both are equal hardware, with identical feature set, then least expensive one should do..

Hi

If you have auditioned both with the same music content or movie clip...you need to decide now as you are the end user...

Hope you auditioned on the same set of speakers...since most are quoting that the specs are same except the price factor, you need to make an informed decision.....

Hi

Based on your location, there perhaps would be possibly some members who have Denons / Marantz with them...the speakers can be checked that way...

It is a known fact and experience by some members (including myself) that Boston Acoustics pairs well with Marantz...infact most speakers do...

I have used Yamaha, Denon Mid Range AV Receiver and using flagship Marantz SR 7010 currently. If your AVR usage for music is anywhere more than 25% don't buy Denon. Else Denon does a great job for HT purposes. in fact never used to listen music from Denon x2200w.

Now I do not see myself going back to Denon anytime soon. Most of the forums they mention that Marantz SR series has better quality components, a argument which you can't easily find a evidence in favour or against. Finally it all boils down to individual choice, if it is purely for HT purposes, I don't think you should be paying extra for Marantz.

PM7005 is a Good stereo Amp for doing Music Duties. Connect the PM 7005 Via the Preouts of New AVR and you can get the best of both worlds, So If there is a considerable price difference (above 15k ) Just Buy Denon for HT purposes, and invest the amount in a decent Dac & Media Player later.

Sound Quality Depends on Components in this order of preference, in my experience.

Marantz and Bostan Acoustic , both are designed by same team from D&M holding. Boston Acoustic specifically A360, speakars are fine tuned with Marantz amplifier so certainly Bostan Acoustic speakars and Marantz amplifier may have a synergy which you may not find with BA and Denon combo.I have audition Paradigm Monitor 9 with Denon AVR x2200 and Anthem MRX520. While having a auditions with Denon, Monitor 9 doesn't appeal me as a great speakers but with Anthem AVR every thing has changed. Entire sound signature of speakars has come as a pleasant surprise to me. The magic was the synergy between Anthem and Paradigm Monitor 9 which took performance a step above and delivered an unforgettable performance.
