get a good dvdp. Buy br/ ps3 when you think time is right.
And if ntfs is not supported then its a major issue for me.
The newer Sony BDP-S380 does support NTFS formatted external drives. It is being retailed at 8,990. You might get a good deal on that one. I doubt it will be region-free though. Check before buying.
External HDD Yes (Read/ FAT32, NTFS)
After years of service my Pioneer DVD player seems to get in the old age now with some problems here and there. Sometimes remote not working, sometimes not reading the disc, etc. Well I have no complaints because it served me well for 4 years.
Now since the time has come to change, I wanted the opinions of my fellow mates here. TO BEGIN WITH LET ME MAKE IT VERY CLEAR THAT SINCE I WOULD NOT BE USING THIS PLAYER TOO MUCH SO SQ & PQ ARE NOT TOO MUCH OF A BOTHERRATION FOR ME AND IF YOU READ BELOW YOU SHALL KNOW WHY.
Some pointers:
1. I do not have a lot of blu ray discs
2. I will sometimes play my cds through the player
3. Dvds I have and I will use this player to play
4. I have WD TV live through which I can play most of all my softwares
5. But if the BDP can do what my WD TV live can, then will pass on the media player to my brother.
Now since I am changing, I thought of taking the Blu ray player so that I am set for some years in the future. Dont have a 3d tv so I dont really care for 3D. I am more of a music guy but surely would need a player for playing my hardware.
Another thought which occurred to my mind was: although I would not use my player extensively and anything decent would anyways not cost me below 10K, should I go and buy PS3. It maybe a slightly more expensive option but in this way I got the following covered in one device: gmaes, dvd, br, acd, soft media, etc.
Suggestions are invited for a player that is most apt to my conditions. I like the Sony BD 370. Read a lot about it and found to be pretty good.
Also I would be travelling to Singapore & Malaysia in another 20 odd days. So should I wait and get it from there. also suggestions about places, etc to get it from in these countries.
Any kind of help is more than welcomed.![]()
Sony is never a region free player man....
