Im currently running xtz spirit 11 and spirit 8 lcr with denon 3800h avr and tonewinner ad8300h amp.Ive decided to to with a 7.2.4 set up. I plan on going with
epson qb1000 projector
Dual Svs pb2000 pro
now i need suggestions for 4 surrounds (2 pairs) and 4 atmos speakers.

Should i go for in ceiling and in wall (if yes which) or on wall like bookshelves and speakers mounted to the roof? Like prime elevations.

kindly evaluate my set up and tell me what you would change about it if anything

With regards to In wall or on wall for the surround speakers, IMO should be based on how far one is inclined towards room aesthetics and available space versus plan for future configuration (number of channels/speaker) changes and speaker upgrades. If you don't plan to change the configuration or upgrade the surround speakers for the long term, in-wall would probably make the setup very neat and the speakers don't become obstacles or hazard when people have to walk around adjusacent to the walls they are installed. On wall provides more flexibility for upgrades and placement/directional adjustments with minimal alterations.

Cheers!

It depends on the room aesthetics, Dedicated or Living room setups .

A small sketch of room with dimensions and few photos may help for suggestions.

Generally if surrounds placement is not a problem for aesthetics and also not creating any obstructions for people movement . It’s better to go with on wall.

For Atmos if you have false ceiling then In ceiling may provide better aesthetics and convenience.
If not on wall speakers can be mounted.

For both case , the placement and angle with respect to the Main listening position should be as per Dolby Atmos speaker placement guidelines .

how big is the room?
If I were you, I would go with 5.2.4 setup with Dirac Live bass control.
And for subwoofers, I would go with Ascando or REL subwoofers with good mid bass punch.
As for projectors, if its 1080p, I would go with a DLP based projector(if you don't have issues with rainbow effect) or LCD 4k projectors. If budget allows, then Sony or JVC. Epson with 1080p lcd is less sharper than a DLP based projector.
In ceiling, if you get speakers that can be angled towards the main listening position. If not Polk OWM speakers.
More importantly,Please do some basic acoustics at least if not done already. All the best.

Thanks, will look into in ceiling speakers that can be angled to the mlp then.. i saw a few yt videos about having bookshelves for atmos gives better immersion. Especially since i have a 11 channel amp, that bigger surrounds or atmos wont be an issue

This is a rough drawing of the room, Dedicated room, already has false ceiling. I heard bookshelf speakers give better immersion for atmos than in ceiling, thats why i was considering them

How would you go about with acoustics? I have a budget of 2 lakhs for acoustics, would be great to have your suggestions on how to spread the budget

with 2 lakhs, you can do good acoustics. speak to a pro :)
otherwise acoustic panels on first reflection points if it is a Home theatre or second reflection points for music rooms. If you have acoustically transparent screen, you can employ QRD behind the screen. Behind your main listening position, you can put absorbers. The goal is to bring down the RT60 to atleast 0.5 sec. you can use RT60 calculater app on your phone. Bass traps on all four corners if needed. Also add a couple of absorbers on the ceiling aiming at the first reflection points. If you're using rockwool for absorption, go with 80 kg/m3 spec. Use wall to wall carpet for flooring and on glass windows use thick curtains.
IF you have no other option, you can go with this :-> https://www.promusicals.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=209
but it is not value for money compared to DIY.
Alternatively TIMBRE acoustics on amazon has some decent panels but not as good as rockwool 80 kg/m3 as they use lower spec rockwool.
All the best.

Ah. Thats expensive. I don't have a contact, unfortunately. which part of kerala are you from?
you can design your room here and opt for their acoustic solution. https://www.gikacoustics.com/pages/acoustic-room-designer

Check with @prateekatasniya if he does acoustics. remember, studio, Home theatre and music room has different acoustics.

How to cover the grill which is usually black? Is it painted with the same color of false ceiling?
Do you have any specific bookshelves which can be angled towards MLP or is it by the installer?

Grills can be painted. You can try Polk audio OWM 3/OWM 5 speakers which can be positioned towards main listening position, if I am not wrong. A cheaper alternative would be JBL control 1 speakers. You do get inceiling speakers with angled drivers.

Rel lacks that mid bass punch which is needed for movies

Maybe they are talking about complete wall to wall panelling.. because that's general practice for home theatres in India...( Think 100% absorption)

But when we design the room in a way in which panels are hung on the wall then the cost can be brought down significantly.

Seems to be big room , IMO If you want to hit reference level you may need to use high sensitivity speakers with higher power handling. If budget is not a constraint look for xtz cinema 8 series speakers for LCR and surrounds .

Regarding Atmos again go for high sensitivity speakers with tiltable option ( for in ceiling the tweeter to be tiltable , if bookshelves then needs to fixed using tiltable brackets aimed at Listening position)
If you can mount bookshelf speakers on ceiling then it will be better IMO.
Acoustics is a must and one of critical item which is ignored. Since you also have a big Glass area on one side of wall you may need to treat it properly.

From the above thread ,I read you have 2 Lakhs for Acoustics which is a very good budget . Please do it.
For subwoofer , I recommend minimum 4 nos for your room size if budget is not constraint or atleast 2 Nos with 15” driver. You can use minidsp 2x4 HD for aligning the same which will give a smooth bass response.
The brands can be Rhythmik, ascendo , xtz cinema series subs .
If you want any further guidance , ping me I know few folks who are professional in installation and also do acoustics which I can refer them if you prefer.

Can you please post a link where tiltable brackets are available 🙏
Also is there any online video where these are installed?

Hi ! Unfortunately there is no link available in my knowledge to purchase. But Some pro model and also few HT model speakers has brackets which can be purchased additionally.
I have seen installers using brackets in which they remove the key hole bracket from the speakers and install this tiltable brackets in the same slot.
