New annual packs

TS has introduced new annual packs for the optional pack. You pay for 11 months for 12 months usage and also I assume it will have price protection, though not confirmed.

Its a good offer for people who make your own pack and have added optional packs. I am sure they will raise the HD to 100rs from 2012 once they have more channel.

DTH guys are smart. No matter how hard we try to reduce costs, we cant do it. These optional packs will have one or the other imp channel missing and when we try to include that, the price will go up so high that we end up buying the annual pack

I think the mega lite package is a better vfm @9900 for two years and @5500 for one year, esp. with a Rs. 500 credit for multihome connection.

Anyone is aware of an equivalent package of Tata Sky's Annual Mega Pack with Airtel. I had taken an annual South Ultra pack with Airtel in Dec 2010 and my channels are so outdated that i feel cheated. Airtel doesn't provide you the latest channels in the South Ultra Pack to the annual pack subscribers. This means any additions to the channels will not automaticaly roll out for an year.

In Tata Sky that is not the case with Annual Mega Pack, Any new channel added even HD will be a part of the Annual Mega Pack FREE of Cost + 12 Showcase Movies FREE + No Service Charges for 1 year + Rs 500 Credit for Multiroom Connection.

Confirmed with Tata SKY all these packages come with price protection.

Airtel has South Ultra which is as good as TS Annaual mega. South Ultra costs INR 5364 and u get 45 days free. But South Ultra does not have HD channels. Airtel charges INR 81 per month for all the HD channels. TS annual mega includes HD, which costs INR 6000 per year.

Videocon D2h gives Platinum HD pack for 5290 for 13 months ( including one month free)

Also Videocon has 40+ HD channels and 1 3D. Its like 4 time more HD channels compared to TATASky. But more folks prefer TS. I was also suggested to stay with TS. TS has the best support. I have seen users complaining big time about Airtel support.

40+ HD Channels Are u kidding? There are hardly 15-20 channels HD channels available in India and ADTV is having the maximum number of HD channels as of now.

I believe you got confused with the fake(fraud)HD from Dish. D2h have only 12 HD channels as of now.

tasanjeev: The problem with Annual subscription with Airtel is that you are locked to the channels at the time of the subscription for the entire year. For ex when i subscribed South Ultra did not have BBC Entertainment, but now the same is available in South Ultra. Since i am in the annual subscription i can't get the channel for 365 days. I had escalated it to NODAL, Airtel Presence etc but no use. I totally agree that TataSky has the best CSS.
