Hello all, I'm new here and also new to HIFI. I currently have an old pioneer SX-636 paired to some EPI-90 speakers and running an Audio Technica AT-LP120USB. My pioneer is new to me I just picked it up used with the speakers but now is making some strange noise regardless of source. I found a full kit on ebay to refresh it buts almost $200. I need recommendations on what to get to replace it with. I'm not against shopping for all components and starting fresh, but I am really overwhelmed at where to start. I have a budget of about $2000, and I was hoping to get shop each piece as I can afford it. ChatGPT says to pair the new Eversolo DMP-A6 Master gen 2 with my current receiver, and that would e a good step for now and would in the future towards working for some Super lintons. A buyers guide on whathifif mentioned the Dali Oberon 5. All in all what should I do to move the needle forward and replace my pioneer and have a good future upgrade path?
