New Saadhanas on order

Hi Prem,
Congrats on the new acquisition. Your quest for improvement is just amazing. I would love to hear how the new speakers will improve your already PERFECT system.

Regards

Abhijit

Hi Abhijit

Thanks. Once the speakers come in and run in for a few days, we shall definitely meet. I think in audio systems there is no such thing as perfect. The quest is endless. There were a few areas where I felt improvements were needed. Especially in mids and in the bass integration. Hopefully the new speakers will take me a step closer in addressing these issues

Congratulations Prem! very happy to hear about your latest upgrade.

Have been a fan of the Saadhanas ever since I heard them for the first time at Jai's place a couple of years ago. Though I can't afford them now, the Rethm brand is something that I am definitely interested in some time in the future.

Have been following your journey with the Lyrita amp as well.

Best,
APK

The new Saadhanas came in yesterday. Main difference is in the mids. More relaxed, dynamic and fleshed out. Bass integration is even better than the previous version. Overall sound signature is similar to the previous versions. Surprisingly resolution, speed and detail of the new driver is as good as the Lowther

Congrats prem

Kudos to rethm and the company making drivers for them to match the standards of lowther

Thanks Rikhav. It's very creditable that the in house developed drivers match the resolution and agility of the Lowthers

Congrats, Prem! I was sure you'd love them. The bass integration and depth to which the Saadhanas go down are indeed outstanding!

I'm curious to know, did you have to change the placement of the speakers substantially from where the earlier Saadhanas were placed?

Thanks Hydra. No they work at pretty much the same place. Earlier I had crossed over at about 100 hz and vol level was 12. Now I have crossed over at about 125 hz and vol is about 10.45

That's good to know Prem!

Jacob George had mentioned to me about a month back (in the context of a friend's recent install of Saadhana v3s) that a higher crossover point is generally better. I guess your experience also bears this out.

hi prem,

firstly congratulations..its nice to know the new Saadhanas are even better for the ones they replaced were quite good as well.

hopefully they will run in well and will open up a tad more after a couple of weeks or so..

enjoi the music !!

do post some pics when possible..

best regards
mpw

Thanks mpw and jai1611. Unlike the older version the new one sounds quite good out of the box itself

Hi Prem,

Congratulations once again! Apart from the driver - what else has Jacob George worked on in the new Saadhanas?
You did mention better integration with the LF unit.

Regards.

The bass drivers are changed. So is the amp. Earlier I think it was a 125 watt amp. Now it's probably a 200 watt amp. It's a more powerful amp. Not sure of the exact numbers though

Thanks docd. We will surely have a listening session once speakers are run in sufficiently
