Unscrewed the faceplate. It came apart without a problem. But the faceplate is not attached to the dome and the voice coil. The plate with the dome and the voice coil is under the faceplate.

Removed the plate with the dome and voice coil. Came apart easily.

There is continuity from A and B and from C and D. So the leads to the coil windings are OK. As stated before there is no continuity between A and C.

This means that there is a break in the windings somewhere. I borrowed a watch repairers loupe from a repairer in our lane and examined the coil closely. There is no break in sight. It looks like there are 2 layers of winding. The outer layer may be OK but there may be a break somewhere in the inner layer which is not visible. Also, there is a brown fluid under the winding. This oozes out when the winding is pressed.
