I had used borderlinx and I found them really good. Their shipping calculator gives a good idea of the costs involved and they are really fast.
The flip side is you need a Citibank card.

Well caught hemantji. But my claim stands true....as of now I still can't but it from the US....Newegg doesn't ship to india.
Newegg ships to India. Now they are covering more countries than earlier. You may want to recheck at their site. The price is Rs 36K (shipping may be extra). As far as i know, i can see they are shipping to India.
Did you try it before? Some reviews give a negative feedback. Couple of such Virtual addresses can be created/used in US and shipped to India. Do throw some light.
Checked the site. The US price is $399 (rs25000). But when you change the country to india the price changes to almost $600 (rs36000). Did a live chat with newegg to figure out why I had to pay 200 dollars extra. They refused to give me any kind of cost breakdown...strange....
Does 12000 for duty + shipping sound right?
Second that thought wrt Borderlinx. I've used them too and found them rather good.
One thing to be aware of is that they recently changed to DDU (Delivery Duty Unpaid) (i.e.) customs duty is extra and payable at delivery if duty is assessed by customs. Earlier Borderlinx used to collect an estimated customs duty and you did not have to pay anything extra at all regardless of how high (or low) customs duty actually was.

Got my Optoma 131xe yesterday in Dubai thrug Aramex in very good packing and all working well till now,3D was not able to test due to non availability of high speed Hdmi cable.

Run it on a wall and was amazed about the outof box quality, now just waiting for highspeed Hdmi cable and then coming back home in India to setup my new home theatre room.

So thats Rs. 50000 for a Rs. 25000 projector

I have received the product with in 8 days. Address of US or other places is not virtual, It's real I personally make a call there and they responded accordingly. I do not think Newegg ships directly to India. The cost you are referring to is thru a courier agent like ishopinternational.com? You cannot even pay using your Indian CC as the shipping address and the CC address has to match, the same is the case going via Paypal.

Please change the shipping destination on Newegg and check.. And YES they have started shipping to India.. And the amount displayed in including tax & duties & shipping charge :clapping:
Oh this is great news, as I had to ask my friends to get it from US many times as they have some of the best prices when compared to Amazon US. Thanks for bringing it up :clapping:
