Just was reading in a forum about the recommended ratio of input impedance of power amp to output impedance of preamp. A ratio of 10 is considered the minimum and 20 is recommended; the higher, the better.
Just to be aware that the impedances will vary based on single-ended or balanced connections and also based on volume control.
Trust this may be of help to someone interested in such technical trivia.
Thanks.

You mean Solid State only right? The tubes do not align with these.

Most standard power amps (brand name as some woudl like to call) meet or exceed this.

A more realistic metric is speaker impedance match to the amps. If the speaker says 4 ohms there will be dips where it might hit 2 or even 1 ohm sometimes and the amps should be able to handle that. This happens for some musics like high pitched strings based music.

Also for everyone to remember, the more the wattage of a power amp, the better it will handle such variations since the transformers will be bigger or efficient.
