hi friends . new to forum . needed advice . need to know the av receiver to go with whaarfedale diamond 9.5 , diamond 9cm . have short listed pioneer 1021 and yamaha 667 . have any one auditioned the two receivers . thanks .

Both AVR can go well with Wharfedale.Yamaha 667 can be little better.Where are you getting 667 in Mumbai & price?

only thing positive about yamaha 667 is discrete amplification of each channel while in pioneer 1021 there is a single integrated chip which amplifies all the channels . pioneer also failed many upscale lab test of scaling and deinterlacing ie jagged test shown in hometheatre .com website , but interesting thing is pioneer 1021 mid range av receivers is recommended by most reviewers ,even by hometheatre.com . any ideas on this . rest all features pioneer beats yamaha . well i am not an audiophile and this is my first home theater set up so any information from experts would be welcome .
Sad part is you don't get to audition everything you want . most sellers have denon av receivers in their audition room .
still I have not sorted out where i will be buying from and at what price . but i have checked on amazon so i know what price to expect and give .

Denon 1911/1912 work pretty well the Wharfedale's as well. However the Yamaha 667 would be a better bet
IMO look out for AV receivers which have preouts.
In the future if the upgrade bug bites u and decide u need to give your speakers a little more juice, you can always add a power amp and free up your AVR's job to power the surrounds and processing
In a way you are future proofing your investment for a couple of years. why chuck out an AVR 2 years down the line for the want of power when u can simple add another component to give your AVR a boost.

Thanks to Flash and aakashr . pioneer has come out with new model 1121 . any ideas on that . have any one combined wharfedale diamond 9.5 with pioneer av recivers . i am more inclined towards pioneer as they are loaded with lot of features . any suggestions .
