Optoma HD141x HD / Full 3D

Got mine too. I have zero experience. this is my first PJ but said that, absolutely amazing Quality, somthing i never believed a projector could achieve over TV. Now I understand why 1080p was made and how it should be truly experienced. I am primarily using to play my Blu ray disc collection of around 40 discs. IMAX 3D Bds also rock on this more than expected. And Cinema mode is the most satisfying mode.

Since my experience is limited, before i get down to slowly jotting down details for my own review, members with any kind of questions, plz post here and I ll answer them to as much detail and as quickly as i can.

Congratulations!! just want to know how long did the delivery from Amazon took. And, what is the throw ratio, i.e. what is the screen size you are getting from the distance that the projector is placed.?
Hey, and if you don't mind may i ask which is the ImaxBd you have mentioned in your post?

Thanks

Thanks Supersteel

Had ordered from newegg and it took exactly 9 days (including the weekend in between)

From 10 feet I am getting a 96 inches image. My screen is the most basic of all basic screens. Its a 7 Ft X 4 Ft Map type screen. I bought this because 7.5 Ft is the maximum width my current room's front wall can afford.

About flexible movement, as you know, the more we move back the projector the image is bigger. The zoom at any distance for this model is adjustable manually, and is limited by the dial on the projector itself. It is however my guess that because of its value for money (VFM) pricepoint, optoma has intentionally kept it pretty limited on this model. No digital zoom exists for this purpose. The one listed as zoom on remote is just for zooming in on the image and not for initial fitting of the 16:9 image on the screen.

From my current 10Ft distance the dial is zoomed in at Max position. Any more forward movement, the resulting output will be smaller than 96 inches and no adjustment can fix that.
I can move the set backward upto a maximum of 1 feet and the dial can be zoomed out at max position on the other side to retain the 96 inch image as it is. Any more backward movement, the image will project outside my screen borders and no adjustment can fix that. Hope you got the idea.

Note : Like it is with any projector, at any distance, focus has to be adjusted accordingly.

The two 3D titles that I have are IMAX under the Sea 3D and Imax Hubble 3D. Both are absolutely outstanding documentaries for 3D purpose.

Anything unclear or any further detailed What's, how's and Why's keep it coming. I am here to share anything that I can answer.

@Sameuun
I may not have the solution to your issue but i faced a similar issue initially. This happened because of opposite default setting followed by glass maker vs projector maker. When i turned on glasses, it synced but showed everything opposite to what it shd be . depth was popping out and vice versa. So instead of pushing invert sync button in glasses everytime i put them on, I have permanently set the projector to sync invert in 3D menu. This solved it and 3D experience is perfect now.Display>3D>3D Sync Invert On. Just try if it you haven't yet. FYI I purchased the lowest priced DLP 3D glasses called GetD from ebay india.

Hi ht fan, What's the price of the screen and from where?
Thanks in advance!

@gap g j
I purchased the lowest priced screen from ebay india for 1899 from a delhi based seller who is true gentleman to communicate with. Only caveat is he ships by roadways so it may take a week-10 days to reach you but if you call him he also provides option to ship by flight at extra cost. Here is the link.

MAP Type Home Cinema Projector Screen IN 16 9 Format Size 7 FT X 4 FT | eBay

Being my first projector i have purchased everything else screen , glasses accordingly at lowest priced options so that i can see how best one can enjoy 1080p full HD at the most economical cost. Everything has worked out well so far.

No extra step required. Once you activate this setting, the 3D image will invert sync instantly and you shd see everything in order. Now note that I am not sure what is default setting in your glass - invert or no invert so I am not sure if the issue we both faced is really identical. But rest assured, once you activate the option, PJ will memorize it for next time when you turn off and turn back on.

btw, just in case for anyone's help, providing the glasses link as well

Hmm. OK lets see what else we can do. I feel u need to look into your source settings - what r u playing (BD or downloaded file/clip) and how are u playing it (BD player/hard disc/media player). All i can say is ensure everything in that source device's menu/settings for 3D is enabled. I play only and only 3D blu ray discs and they work fine.

My PJ settings: 3D mode: DLP link, 3D>2D : 3D, 3D sync invert : on.

Honestly i feel its either very very minor or very major. cant be in between as we have the same glasses.

How is the packing and safety measures because my last two purchase from eBay had gone wrong
I had to return at my own expense and there was no good reply from the seller once eBay closed the case.
Even worse the seller didn't accept my Courier and the faulty device came back to me once again.
