Optoma HD141x HD / Full 3D

Thanks Aditya, for the helpful reply, I am bookmarking this post for the future.

My screen is temporary, it is on a wall at the moment, there is a nail sticking out, so I will post pictures when I can do justice to the magesty of this projector.

My feedback till now, the picture quality has wowed everyone in the family. There is a sharpness to the texture and the colours are vivid. It simply blows away any TV experience. I am a projector convert for ever now.

The projector makes a slight whine, but it is no louder than what my PC makes and it does affect the audiovisual experience. You hardly notice it after a while.

I am convinced now, that buying HD141X on Amazon was was worth the risk.

Great !!!!
Me too counting days :D

For deciding on Home Theater speaker system, you should decide and let us know what is ur budget. That will be very helpful.

However, you can check Onkyo HT3500, it costed me 29,000Rs, if that's in ur budget I seriously recommend it. If your budget is more than that then let me know I can suggest u other models also :D

But am sure this will solve the purpose, it's AWESOME, it is one of the best investment I made on electronic equipment. I have been using it for more than a year now, no problem faced till now, not even affected by power fluctuations as well, running very smooth.
The sound will blow ur mind, the quality is very good.
I hope this helps, let me know what r u planning and ur budget there are other good products which might cost less than this price.
Keep us updated about your decision :)

Cheers,
Aditya

It is gratifying to know that our community of HD141x users in India has another member, it also reassures all that the community will give valuable advice if any of the members faces problems.

I did a survey on home theater sound. There are 3 alternatives for a home theater system-
1. Home Theater in a Box(HTIB). The best choices are Onkyo S3500 or Yamaha YHT299. They are in the price range 25000-30000. Of course much better options are available at higher prices

2 Soundbar with wireless subwoofer and surround sound speakers. The best choice is Vizio S4251. The quality of sound though very good is still not as good as HTIB, but much easier to setup and use.

3 Buy separate Amplifier, Subwoofer, speakers etc.

Did u get 3D glasses ??

I have ordered 3d glasses on Amazon, GL410. It cost me 1500 INR. I am waiting eagerly for it.

I can understand your eagerness, the first time you switch on the projector and the image comes on the screen, you wonder why the hell did I waste so many years watching HD material on TV.

Yes, I checked your Home Theater pics. I don't mind admitting I felt a pang of jealousy watching it. It really looked impressive, truly a movie theater.

Please post pics, when you get the projector up and running.

The 3d glasses are cheaper on eBay. Here is the link-http://www.ebay.in/itm/GetD-3D-Glasses-for-DLP-LINK-Projector-3D-Ready-Optoma-/151535397973?pt=IN_Projectors_Accessories&hash=item234836ac55

Well, I would suggest the Yamaha YHT299 which costs below the 30k mark. Not only does it provide fantastic sound it also acts as an excellent AVR. So, you can plug in all your HDMI devices to its input, since it offers 4 HDMI slots and give the output to the projector. The only down is that it offers only one Optical Sound slot. But, apart from this minor quibble it is a fantastic system and definitely value for money.

I havent checked it personally, but if u ask me I would suggest u not to go with these Sony & Samsung which we find in all electronic stores, I have checked them all before I bought Onkyo, I dont remember the model numbers exactly, but I can assure you that you will not be at loss if u choose something that we are recommending here, Onkyo and Yamaha which was suggest by jasjit are real good, the kind of HTiB's that we are talking about is totally different.

Sony BDV4100 is costing u 29,000Rs. I sincerely request you not to go with that, the only benefit u r getting is the Blu-ray player, but the loss will be enormous, when compared to buying Onkyo or Yamaha which we suggested.

You can wait for sometime, maybe until next month, bring your budget up by 2,000 to 3,000 more and then buy.

Go for Onkyo or Yamaha for speaker system and buy blu-ray player separately.

You can buy a used Blu-ray on OLX or ebay u can get it at a very low price. but make sure they are in good condition.

Where are you from?
I just bought a Philips 3D Bluray player and the 3D glasses for this projector. I am selling my existing Samsung BD5100 blu-ray player. If you are interested I can sell it to u. I am selling at Rs.2,500. It is in very good condition not even scratches. It works like a charm. I can send you pics of it. I am posting an Ad in OLX now.

Let me know about it.

Cheers,
Aditya

Can't wait , Can't wait :D

Yes, that's even better, PS3 is a real good deal. Don't worry about getting a bluray player now :D

I am sure u will not regret the decision u made to buy Onkyo HT3500 . Just to confirm once again for urself, I suggest u go and have a demo of Onkyo HT3500.

Good to know I was helpful :)
Have fun and keep posting about ur HT setup.

Cheers,
Aditya

Cool .... thanks for info buddy :)

also can you please check this

Any kind of info u can share about this is helpful ...... it is serious :(

The Philips BDP 2180 3D is certainly 3D compatible and will work fine with the projector.

All one needs is a HDMI High Speed cable(included with the projector), a projector that supports 3D( HD141X not only support BD 3D but also SBS and UpBottom) and of course 3D glasses.

So its because my TV is not 3D, I am not able to play the 3D content ??

Coz I remember that I played a 3D content using my PS3 on the same TV. It was Monsters vs Aliens Bluray, in that disc they have a short film in 3D. I played it using my PS3 and on same TV.

am worried now :(

Hi nice to see lot of guys are going for HT setup. I had done my setup recently 2 months back. I had gone for optoma HD25e from Amazon. Com with Dali zensor 7 5.1 setup.
Just wanted to inform to be careful while switch on/off as I had suffered on not keeping this small things in mind.
If u had purchased from Amazon or any other sites out of this country than forget about the warranty part as local optoma centre is no use unless and until u are ready to spend.
Just thought to share as i had burned my fingers by not keeping small things in mind so u guys don't have to suffer. Again this post is not to discourage anyone.
Just enjoy. :clapping:
