Optoma HD141x HD / Full 3D

Hi nice to see lot of guys are going for HT setup. I had done my setup recently 2 months back. I had gone for optoma HD25e from Amazon. Com with Dali zensor 7 5.1 setup.
Just wanted to inform to be careful while switch on/off as I had suffered on not keeping this small things in mind.
If u had purchased from Amazon or any other sites out of this country than forget about the warranty part as local optoma centre is no use unless and until u are ready to spend.
Just thought to share as i had burned my fingers by not keeping small things in mind so u guys don't have to suffer. Again this post is not to discourage anyone.
Just enjoy. :clapping:

Could you explain in detail what went wrong so that we may all learn. Thanks in advance.

Yes, these paheli kind of posts are most unnerving. I believe, the small things regarding on/off are-
1 Use UPS
2 No immediate switch on after shut down

If there is anything else is would surely like to know.

Aditya, further feedback. The big screen experience is contagious. Even DVD's of old movies look great on a big screen, even with 4:3 format and smaller size, because it is still so much bigger than TV, and the clarity of the picture is breathtaking.

I am going myself to ARAMEX Courier office in Hyderabad and collecting it on Monday. If they deliver, they will do it on Wednesday :( I cant wait that long, after u teasing me so much

I will get my screen installed Tuesday, next week is gonna be a big week :D

Cheers

Sorry the post was not to confuse or discourage. Wanted to share my experience and as donasjit had mentioned in his post about the on/off projector he is right we have to be careful for this things.
I was also a new to HT and after going and reading lot about HT decided to go for HT setup at my new house..installed everything was going great for first 10--12 days .one day when I switched on the light was blinking from red to green and turned in to amber and it was blank no lamp light nothing try to get in touch with Amazon.com they directed me to optoma but no use they simply replied it was purchased out of this country so nothing we can do . Finally approached my system guy and he referred to one of his technician. He said that this earror is due to sudden on and off due to this power supply has gone and minor problem arise in pcb. All this cost me around 16k. He said that even if u had purchased locally and under warranty the optoma people must have charged u as this kind of problem are not covered under warranty.
So guys we are at least me in a habit of switch on off our led/lcd tv whenever we wants to here thing is little different (not complicated )when u switched off pl wait for the fan to cool down wait for the light to turn red from green and then switched off the main power supply switch or start again. My technician even suggested to put the tap on main switch in on position permanently let it be in standby mode so no one can play around with it in ur absence (my pj is placed on at ceiling hight).

If there is a power fluctuation problem in your city pl use UPS it's must.
Thanks guy's and enjoy ur cinema experience it's mind blowing compare to led. ENJOY :clapping:

Thank you so much for the advise. All of us, new projector owners learn from it.

Aditya,
One piece from advice from me. I know how eager you are to setup your projector and experience the big screen magic, but be patient during installation. I am saying this from experience, do not move the projector when it is running, do not tinker with the positioning when on, because you may dislodge the power cord and cause a sudden shutdown.

If you plan on using a flat service for placing projector, use the screws at the back, they can extend a lot and give the projector the required tilt.

Think about elevation and positioning before switching on. If the image on the screen does not fit properly with screen, switch off, think again, make corrections, after one hour switch on and see again.

As a newcomer, I made mistakes in projector placement, but I learnt very quickly. I don't want you to make the same mistakes.

I am happy for you. With the Onkyo, you will have an awesome combination.

I know this is not the right time, but when you were researching the projector, did you find where in Delhi you could service it if things went bad. This info will be useful to me too, since I live nearby.

jasjit buddy,
I got the screen fixed today:yahoo:
you will not believe the quality of the picture on screen
I suggest you get a screen immediately.
I was busy today the whole day, checking all the blu-rays that I have :D

Main Attraction is 3D ....... TOTALLY OUT OF THIS WORLD ...... I was worried when buying the 3D player and 3D glasses, as I was going beyond my budget. But after I turned on and started playing 3D, everything is Worth more than what ever I have spent.

3D is TOTALLY OUT OF THIS WORLD, I dont feel like going to a Multiplex or Cinema Hall anymore :D

I will post some pics in my thread in these couple of days, I am totally busy playing all discs :D

Cheers

Happy that your Blu Ray player worked all right. Two things work right for this projector, firstly it is 1080p and secondly it so bright. What more can one want?

Actually, there is, I sent repeated messages to Mr Senthil Kumar, India head of Optoma, regarding the whereabouts of places which could service the projector in case of problems. No help there.

Now, I am going to send emails to higher ups in the organization. I need the peace of mind that this projector can be repaired either in Chandigarh or Delhi.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
