Panasonic 2010 line-up in outline
Panasonic will incorporate part of the KURO technology that they acquired from Pioneer in the summer of 2009. This is quite interesting as it might improve black levels a lot and from what we know Panasonic has been able to do so stating a 5.000.000:1 native contrast ratio (not dynamic) on the new Infinite Black Pro panels.

Panasonic 2010 plasma line-up

One of the big things in the 2010 line-up is 3DTVs that Panasonic will release on the market in the new VT25 range. Other features are the Neo PDP panels that reduce power consumption and slimmed down TVs.

Panasonic 3D

Panasonic will launch new models ranging from 42 inches to gigantic 65 inches. Most panels will have Full HD resolutions as well but the cheapest series will feature HD Ready panels.

VIERA CAST has been improved on the new 2010 ranges. First of all you can access far more services such as Netflix, Fox Sports, Pandora, Twitter and YouTube. Some of the 2010 ranges will also feature the Skype function enabling users to communicate with others through Skype. The Skype camera supports 720p and will be sold separately.

Panasonic VIERA CAST has improved

The flagship models has a THX profile like on the V10 from 2009 providing top class reference picture quality approved by the picture standards (such as color temperature, gamma, color accuracy etc) from THX. ISFccc calibration option mode has been incorporated on some models as well.

Design has not changed drastically from the 2009 line-up but note that the bezels seem more flat and streamlined, although not much.

Panasonics 3DTV is called VT25
Panasonic is launching their first 3DTV in 2010, and it'll be ready for spring release. The 3DTV range will be called VT25 and comes in 4 sizes.

Well there is a bad news for all Plasma lovers that Panasonic has discontinued all their Plasma models in India and they dont seem to overturn their decision anytime soon. To me its indeed a bad news.

Your statement would really affect my plans for this year. Could you please confirm the source of this info or is it just related to the 2009 models and the ongoing shortage?

Panasonic, having no good LCDs in the lineup, I doubt this would happen.
Very bad decision if it happens!!

Well guys i got this information a week back and u can even check thier website they have removed all thier plasma models. if u wanna buy a Pana plasma you should wait for atleast 3 months for the newer models (VT25/G25/G20/S2/U2) to arrive but at this moment we r just stuck with LED/LCDs.

hmmm...a newbie spreading baseless rumors...if you say something so drastic, at least back it up with a source..and the newer models of 2010 will not be launched in Asian markets before towards October 2010, there is always close to a one year lag, I don't see why anyone should wait..

1) Never leave static images on the unit. Plasma phosphors have become more resilient to burn in and there are many technologies now incorporated to prevent it, but still its better to be safe. Do not leave a static image on the plasma screen for more than 15 minutes during the first month of use. This can cause a ghosting effect which will "wash" out by use over time. Watch the unit in full widescreen format as much as possible to avoid differentiation between the side bars of the unit. While this does not actually decrease the longevity of the phosphors it does cause an annoyance to have to play a gray static image to "erase" the temporary burn in.

2) Use Brightness and Contrast levels that are necessary for viewing - not excessive. In a brightly lit room you may need to view the plasma TV or LCD at a higher contrast and brightness, which will decrease the life of the unit. However, there are memory setting adjustments available on most recent plasma displays that allow the user to choose a memory setting to suit viewing needs. At night, or in a lower light room use lower contrast levels and extend the life. Do not use your plasma or LCD TV on 100% contrast (often designated as the picture option in the menu). In rooms with normal lighting you should not need to use the contrast setting on more than 60% of contrast.
