Hello...

German AreaDVD specialists reviewd the G20 model....

TEST: Panasonic Full-HD-Plasma TX-P42GW20 - brandneuer Bildknner im exklusiven Review (25.02.2010)[/URL]

(google translation works ok)

This should be exact copy of G20e (euro) or G25 (american).... dont know why thay call it gw (probably a german only label for the same TV)

There is no calibration figures, but the review is indepth and with lots of pics.....

Hope you like it......

If you could post the translated review here, will help lot of members to go through the entire pain

The following Flatpanel HD review may help. They too do not think of it as a great revolution and definitely not a Kuro beater or equalizer

(Panasonic G20 review - FlatpanelsHD

In short they claim
Improved SD perf vs 2009
Much better day time viewing given the change in the panel structure vs 2009 models
Slightly better black levels vs G10.
Great shadow details vs G10
Presence of dithering and phosphor trailing
Better THX colour accuracy compared to the V10 and G10

However there are some questions about their black level values as D-Nice calibrated an S2 at a much lower value.

AVS and CNET should also have their reviews coming out in the next few days.

i didnt have very high expectations from G20's but a better SD performance & lower power consumption will appeal to a lot of peeps specially at such a low price tag. my bet is on V20 & VT20 (no offense to G20s its a great PDP). BTW i'm considering 42V20 and will buy it on the very same day of its launch in india. I guess Ill have to wait for a while.

I am also looking for the same TV 42G20, or 42V20 in Pune, but don't know when these TVs are being launched in India. Can anyone please throw some light on this. Thanks!

A word of caution against 2009 models of Panasonic. Cnet review mentions "Testing conducted on 2009 Panasonic plasma TVs, similar to this one, has revealed that black-level performance has become noticeably less impressive within what is typically the first year of ownership". Here is the link - Tests point to extent of loss in Panasonic plasma black-level performance | Crave - CNET
