pathetic servicing from Sonodyne

George,

Thanks for the thread and Be calm until you get proper justice.I too had recommended Sonodyne BS for my friend, and surely going to give the diff suggestion Now.

Indian Brands have Low priced,Low build Quality and low service compared to the Other Reputed foreign brands.Though we feel Foreign brands are Overpriced Almost double the Indian brands. They atleast Provide half VTM in product and service.
Being Indian brands Sonodyne, they have a good reputation in public and they should give good quality and service to attract more customers.Which they fail to do sometimes.

Even Unknown seller via Ebay, is offering for a "Returns within *Days, and Shipping to be bared by user", But this is not happening for a well known brand

Regarding a "SPIKE HOLE" argument, whether a Hole is made by default or custom,But I dont know ,why cant the Sonodyne Designers think of Filling the Spike Holes with some "Plastic Wall plugs" (Which would cost max 50INR on good 4 piece), which can give grip for to fit the Spikes and give a Neat look.
I have a Speaker foreign brand made in early 80's and in the same there are spike holes which are covered by Rubber Wall plugs which give good impression, But After around 30 years we lack in build quality.

Build quality mostly proves the Service quality, apart from Pricing wat i believe.

SPENDING ON AV is not a Investment, Just we spending for the passion, so we require high priority adherence in service and support normally.

When "30 INR" gets detected from your Mobile balance(with out any intimation\no reason), we never hesitate to ring-up and shout to get back the same.
So for Amounts in thousands, should bust in anger ,George you are really quite and awaiting for the justice and surely it will reach in though its taking some time.

when we compare the foreign brands with their original price, we can clearly understand Indian brands are still below average in build quality, finishing, technology and customer support.

Even I feel Sonodyne's quality control is not good. I bought a pair of Sonodyne BS speakers from another FM recently. Cosmetically it is 10/10. Under the bottom of the speakers there are two holes which I think is to fix the speakers to a stand. On one of the speakers these holes are perfect round as in made by a drilling machine where as in the second one it is as if pierced using a screw driver. I will post the images later in the AV purchase thread.

today I called mr. Anindya Mukharjee.he said he will inform me after they sent the new piece.but I dont know how much time I have to wait.

Your first post 28th December, and that was not the start of your troubles. Sonodyne posted on 29th. Now you are posting two weeks later, problem still not resolved.

India does not have any monopoly on bad or slow service. Far from it, it is internationally widespread. This is one respect in which small companies ought to be able to excel, but often they don't. They should realise that personal, prompt and good service is an area in which they can stand out: in the end, it will lead to greater profits.

Time for an age-old truism: Everybody makes mistakes. It is how they are handled that separates good companies from bad.

My invoice for consultancy is in the post

Another Sonodyne victim here. I am not opening another thread as I thought it will be good to post it here. In short, I Bought a Sonodyne SiA 310 amp from hifimart.com and all was fine initially. I was thinking of selling this as the sound was not of my liking and thought of upgrading to another brand. I even posted a sale thread. Then starts the problem.

Problem number 1. The power transformer hums and the sound is unbearable. The hum is very high if line voltage is around 230-240V. At lower voltage it is not much, but it is still there. There is no humming through the speakers though.

Problem number 2. The amp goes to mute when I pause the music in laptop for a few minutes. It also happens when I turn on the amp from standby. I have to press the volume button to get the sound back.

Problem number 3. Slight hissing through the speaker especially when the treble is above 10 on a scale of 14.

Very frustrating. Contacted Sonodyne. Waiting for a resolution. I prefer a complete refund rather than waiting for replacement.

Here in HiFiVision, I came to know about Sonodyne and started feeling good about an Indian brand regarded descent enough among audiophile listeners. Now in the same HiFiVision, I read lots of not so good experience about the same Sonodyne.

All the bad experience mentioned by fellow members are not about quality of product (which some times we at India give an excuse that we dont have advanced technology like in international countries) but its all about quality of service and this shows simple lack of attitude.

I am sure this is going to affect Sonodyne sales if they don't change their attitude. They need to enhance quality control.

Disaster complete. The right channel of the amp died when I checked it in the evening. Both left and right channel sound are coming through the left channel. Packed the amp for despatching. Very bad. I used it for 10-20 hours only.

Update - According to Sonodyne, volume going mute when no signal is received for a fixed time (appx. 3 minutes) is a feature of the amp and it cannot be changed. They have agreed to replace the amp.

Hi,
What are your current status with your problems? Has sonodyne replaced the same as per their commitment?
Thanks

We are waiting for the Banglore Service Manager 'Sabu' who informed that he will be visiting Kerala this weekend and will bring the amp and sub personally along with an engineer to study the humming problem.

The main problem with Sonodyne seems to be the lag in getting replacements. Their communication is very good though.

Hi Manu! feels bad on Sonodyne's part, they should have replaced already with the brand new one and they still taking too much time for the replacement :( . Hope this time you'll genuinely get a new piece. A good brand shouldn't treat their customer like this, replacing is not a big deal for them but the long waiting and their answers of researching and blah blah...kept them in judgmental area.
One of my dealer prevented me to buy speakers from Sonodyne and finally I bought PolkAudio RTI A3.
@baijuxavior waiting to see the replacement of yours, hope Sonodyne won't treat you as they did with Manu.

This is scary! I was planning to audition Sonodyne this weekend at Croma, Eva mall, Bangalore. I should rethink about this!

Indeed this is bad. I was having sonodyne on my list, but i think even if quality is good, but service is not good then it is not a good choice.
looking for other options now.

I dont know what to say.Mr Anindhya Mukharjee said.they are thoroughly testing their entire new batch of subwoofers for the issues:indifferent14:.But still I dont understand why they are taking so much time.Any way I am patiently waiting:o.

:mad:I am also testing my patience percentage:yahoo:

Dont worry as the md of sonodyne has assurred you it will end very well. Do give them the benefit of doubt.

This thing can happen to anyone.
