Pc connect to Lcd

Guys,
I have Sony Bravia LCD. Nd hv got Sony Laptop. I want to connect my laptop to my LCD. So that I can watch movie on big screen. i hv vga coonection on my laptop. So I want it to connect to LCD through VGA cable. Can anybody guide me through the connection process. Because I hv connected the cable but still its not coming.

You need to duplicate the display or set LCD TV as the primary display under Display Settings.

Don't you have HDMI port on your laptop ? I think all the latest Sony models have HDMI port. HDMI may handle better audio and video quality on your PC to LCD conection. Pardon me if it's not present in your laptop.
You can connect PC to your LCD via VGA or HDMI and just choose the disaply settings as 'Only Projector' to get the full resolution on LCD.
Also, don't forget to do one more thing. GO to Control panel-->Hardware & Sound--> Manage Audio and then click on the 'HDMI Out" if you have HDMI connection. Not sure what exactly it displays for VGA connection. There should be a compatible drive to handle audio via VGA cable as well.
