Its been rated above the yamaha665 and onkyo607. Denon1910 still to be rated. Is this the top pick for this year's mid range? any views?

Summary of cnet.com

CNET editors' rating:
4.0
stars
Excellent

Product summary

The good:
Outstanding sound quality for the price; four HDMI inputs; can connect an iPod/iPhone directly to its USB port and browse music using onscreen graphical user interface; analog video upconversion to 1080p, with acceptable image quality; onboard Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding; Sirius-ready; automatic speaker calibration.

The bad:
Advanced controls can be difficult to setup; confusing manual.

The bottom line:
The Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K delivers an excellent feature set and outstanding sound quality for its price, making it our top midrange AV receiver pick so far.

CNET's reviews for audio components are a bit dodgy, whereas their video component reviews are generally solid. At the end of the day it's one more opinion, and the most important opinion is your own.

Mid-Range AVR shootout

So what would be forum member's take on the below 4 AVRs for movies and music?

1. Pioneer 1019
2. Yamaha 665
3. Denon 1910
4. Onkyo 607

I found the inbuilt iPod connectivity a huge plus for the Pioneer. What about the remotes, I/Os (6HDMIs on 607 look overkill) and usability. Do they have any special features?

Has anyone auditioned them to judge Audio Video Quality?

Hi Guys, just joined this amazing community, well I'm blind to technology and seek a few suggestions :

1. Have a Pioneer Dv 420V DVD player : and guess it does do upscaling.

2. Am Planning to buy Pioneer VSX 1019 Ah with Q-Av 5.1 system.

3. Have Sony 37" S series 550A (guess it's HD Ready)

Am still divided between Denon 1910 vs. Pioneer 1019 though(any concrete advise may just help).

Should I go for 1019 (since it has an upscalar) or mere 919 would do?

Am confused and any info contributed would help

There's a shop in Heera Panna (Mumbai), giving the Pioneer 1019 for 40,000. I think price could be bargained.

Denon 1910 for 35k without Bill.

PROFX (Official Denon dealers) give the 1910 for 45,000. And they usually give a 10% discount if you bargain with them properly. So, it will come down to around 40,000 with proper warranty and all.
