well u can always buy a OLED one day,and conventional backlight lcds from late this year or next year would mostly surpass the slight contrast advantage the kuro had.

I think this is a sign the high end Plasma market is lacking sufficient returns. At the same time , the manufacturers might have hit a glass ceiling with the technology in terms of feature set. The Elite Kuro are probably the best plasmas built thus far but Pioneer holds such a small market share that it might not have made sense to be very diversified.
