PMP( wih FM) or Radio casette player for FM ?

Hi all,

My requirement is to listen to FM radio
through my amp and speakers.

I have thought of 2 options.

1. Connect a PMP player's headphone out
to the AUX input of amplifier.

2. Connect the headphone out of a simple
Radio casette player to the amp.
Sony and Philips have a mono Radio casette
player at around Rs. 1900( ( Philips-AQ4140,Sony-CFM-S1MK2/B )
the advantage is i can also play my old casettes.

but i'm more concerned about FM sound quality.
Which of the above 2 will offer better sound.

In another thread people have suggested
Norge FM tuner. But the problem is Norge
products cannot be auditioned anywhere
expcept in mumbai.

Plz give your suggestions

1) You can get cellphone audio out - 2 Rca connector plugs - or some nokia hands free ( like HS 20)has connectivity of 3.5 mm headphone plugs. Buy a cable like headphone plug -2 RCA and you wlll be done ( However remember that generally headphone cable is antenna so sound quality may suffer.

Which system you have? Which cellphone you have ??or planning to buy?

Check if second hand tuner is available --- you may get it around 1 to 2 K and I feel that 20 year old tuner also serve you good! In fact digital tuners may deteriorate so see if you get analougue one. ( Experts your opinions please)

About tape players - i think you will get stereo tape player in same price

does anyone know any good Analogue tuners available in india?

I don't think so- no analougue tuners- but you get 1 or 2 digital tuners in hi- fi shops.
Tuner market is very small
Again in secondhand market too tuners are not easily available.
