I have the same confusion: Dune HD Duo or Popcorn Hour C200 ?
Since I have BDP-83, I am not looking for BD player capability
I am not concerned much on the support for various video/audio streaming sites
Based on my research I found the following
Advantages of PCH C200
- RF Remote
- Simultaneous output through HDMI and Component
- Internal WiFi option - doesn't consume USB port
- 5 USB ports (including 1 internal port)
- LCD Display
Advantages of Dune HD Duo
2 Native slots for HDDs with Hot swap
Bitstream HD audio from static files (MKV) from the beginning.
Has compartment for 2 extension boards
Supports SD Cards
PCH C200 had some issues with bitstream of Dolby TrueHD and DTS HDMA from static files, hope the issue is fixed now - request owners to confirm this.
Neither HD Duo nor PCH C200 support hi res (i.e. 720p or greater) IDX subs in mkvs.
Please correct me if any of the above finding are wrong.
Also please let me know if some more important differences are there.
Price told over phone by a dealer in Chennai for HD Duo is 28k
I think C200 will cost around 25k+ (adding shipment, duties, taxes, etc)
I am also thinking whether to wait for the next chip from Sigma designs as USB 3.0, SATA 3, support for more than 2TB, full support for 3D, HDMI 1.4a etc are expected in the near future.
