Price variations (eg Marantz NR1402)

Hi,
While casual browsing of few receiver options i came across model from Marantz, NR1402..

The price on the site is USD399.

The system looked interesting and price seemed attractive so i checked ebay's GEB availability.
Here's the link to that NEW Marantz NR1402 5.1-channel 3D home theater receiver (Rs. 36997),
there its quoted at USD690!!.

Why is there difference of USD290!!
Some difference is expected taking taxation and other things, but almost USD300, is it just the margin/profit of the co. or dealer?

Can somebody shed some light!!

shipping charges to India per kg is $18/Kg + 36% customs duty(approx) + other misc .. So almost it is right.

hm... but i am sure the whole-sale sellers dont pay $18/kg.
But with customs duty added on, the price does look quite crazy.
