Wish there is such a deal now. The Re is now touching 60!

Anything that you feel should have been better in 5360?

I called up Viewsonic helpline and asked them if they can support a conked off projector purchased from US.

They said leave alone US, if the projector is out of warranty even if purchased from India they wont be able to provide support.

So Viewsonic is a BIG NO NO for me. I would say to everyone that stay away.

Acer support was still helpful, wish they could improve the overall quality of their products. They seems to be the Tata Motors of projectors. I was impressed by the way Benq gives support in India so I have a soft spot for them now.

Oh! Viewsonic need to improve in this area.

Btw how much for Benq 770st in India?

I am very much happy with acer h5360, also playing games via ps3 is awesome :-). I bought mine for 435$ inclusive of tax + long hdmi cable.

U should keep price watch, recently it was available in newegg for 350$.

For 100inches, 14ft viewing distance and sub 500$ price, I would say go for 720p.

As a first time buyer of projector, you will still say 85 times "wow" for 720p vs 95 times for 1080p - IMHO.

So for the extra 10% in pic clarity, saving around 80% still makes sense!

I guess recently it was available for 400USD. Actual Price was 450 but newegg gave $50 off with coupon.

Not sure on India price, on Amazon it is listed at 642USD.

642USD is way too high for this, You will get fullHD 3D projector in 699USD.

Indeed it is, I have found the best selling price of 595 USD at Audio General. It does offset some of the price concern.

Does anyone has any buying experience with Audio General?

I suggest the BenQ W1070. Yes the price is higher than the others people are talking about on here, but I've owned a 720P for a few years and always wish I had 1080P. I have a 106" screen at 13 feet away as reference. Here Best Home Theater Projector - BenQ W1070 Review they show the comparison of the HD25. Yes the HD25 has a higher contrast ratio, but the dynamics of the W1070 appear to show a deeper color picture to me at least.
Shop around, but keep checking Amazon too since they will work with you on returns and including free shipping back sometimes on these items that sell for $800+

Acer h5370bd is back at USD 399 on newegg with a promotion code listed on newegg.com

Any pointers on how to get it safely to india. Have seen ishopinternational - comes to 32,119 all inclusive. Never used it though.
Offer valid for today only. Seems like a great deal.

Its a great deal esp in a scenario where there is no one coming down from US to carry it for you.

Hi Gurus !

I have a couple of doubts about buying projectors from international shopping sites (specifically importing form USA).

Please bare with me if I sound dumb

1) When the checked the specifications of the Acer H5370BD form Acer's US website, in the Power Description section is given as

Input Voltage 110 V AC
220 V AC

What does this mean ? Can we connected the projector to 110V or 220V (if used in India) source directly without using a step down transformer ?

2) As the projector is not yet released in India, what if the bulb blows off after some time. Do I get a replacement bulb in India for that specific projector and will the local Acer dealer replace the bulb if we pay for the bulb and service charges ?

I got these doubts because, I observed many forum members recommending to buy online from international sites as we are getting it cheaper. Earlier I was thinking of buying Epson 550 and Benq 750 in India. But they cost around 50-60k and Acer 5370 cost around 40k including all costs. So, got attracted towards it :ohyeah:

1. Yes, it will work with Indian voltage without adopter

2. Acer uses Osram bulb, which is a 3rd party supplier. You can get the bulb easily in India. For acer, the bulb replacement is a cartridge and can be done by user. Download the user manual and you will know what I meant.

I was also in the same boat, my choice was Benq710st. But for a much lesser price you get full 3D, so shifted to acer.
