Hi all,

I am from Pune. I want to Buy Projector for watching HD channel and Movies using HD D2H connection and USB/Laptop.

Please suggest reliable model. also let me know, is it good idea to use projector without fixing on the ceiling or wall.? if I buy LED projector then if LEDs gone damage or not working or any other issue with LED projector, is it reparable? Becuase one of dealer said me to, that LED projector is too small and cant repair.

Projector to screen distance max 9 Feet. I want at least 90 Inch Screen with good resolution. My Max Budget Rs. 40000/-

Thanks,
Goswami R

Try a short throw projector like Viewsonic PLED W500, BenQ GP10 or LG PA75U. LED usually have a lifespan of around 20,000 years and may not cause any trouble. The downside is the low brightness, which you will have to compensate using a dark room.
If you are going for a lamp based one, you can try ACER H5370BD or couple of Epson models.
Go through the threads and there are lot of information

Thanks for reply.. all projector suggested by you is more than 40K INR. But I am impressed with ACER H5370BD spec. sheet and review. now the question is from where I can buy ACER H5370BD projector from india, directly acer dealer or online OR from US (amazon or US based website).. ?

As I mentioned earlier, my budget is 40K INR. so according to that, Buying from US online store is make more sense. But I have not experience buying internationally. please help me on that.

at 9 feet of distance ACER H5370BD is not making screen more 70 inch. so in this case, I need to look short throw projector. please suggest short throw projector according to my budget.

The BenQ GP2 should be under 40K. So should be the Acer K330. LEDs are good choice if you are worried about lamp life and you have a dark room.
Remember, if you use a bulb based PJ, you will need a back up power supply too.

ACER K330 under 40K? If yes from where to buy ? I enquired local ACER distributor, that havent this model. they have K335 price above 60K.

Help me how to get ACER H5370BD from US.? in india i think this projector not fit in my budget. will manage UPS and etc. for buld base projector.

I got a price offer for epson eh tw 480 for 40k. It is 3lcd, 2800lumens. Highly praised in certain webcritic.I am planning to buy it. Any suggestions

Hello Guys,

After lots of research on internet. I am finally decided to go with Epson EH-TW480 OR Acer H5370BD . whichever come under my budget Rs. 40K. Please give me pros and cons for both projector. Also let me know from where I get best deal.

I think you have the needed info in this very thread. Please read all posts again.

Both the projectors are almost same except that TW480 is 3LCD based where as Acer is DLP. DLP projector may have rainbow effect (not everyone impacted by this) but 3LCD wont. Otherwise features wise they are identical.

Acer you need to import and best is amazon.com.

Sudip has indicated he got a offer around Pune for 40k for TW480.

Both require lamp replacement after sometime in future as they are bulb based.

Whatelse you are looking for? be specific in terms of what you are looking for and that helps respond. Your first post indicate you just want to watch TV and stuff thru USB for that purpose both these projectors are good enough. If you have price as a concern a DIY option suggested in this thread is also a option where you might get a Full HD DIY projector under 33K but DIY projector is a different can of worms and ask in that thread what difference/deficiencies that will bring compared to commercial models.

Hope this helps.

Reviving this old thread as I have similar requirement to buy a projector with 40K budget

Short throw projector for small room, it would not be used for watching TV Or Blu-Ray. Main purpose would be to watch movies/sitcoms via USB it should also support video streaming if possible (Miracast/Intel Wi-DI), may connect my game console occasionally.

Please suggest ideal projector screen size and a decent 2.1 sound system for now (prefer balanced quality i terms of bass and treble output)

Is project (irrespective of its specs) advisable for TV viewing? As far as I have heard/ read that tvs are better for tv viewing as we view tv for a longer period of time at a stretch and in doing so with a projector, it can be harmful to it. While exclusive for movie viewing (3-5 hours continuously) projector is perfect. Am I correct?

I am using Acer K 130 LED proj for over two years now. It has got brilliant contrast. Brightness is also satisfactory. However you need a little darker room. I got it from a local dealer in delhi for 34K. Flipkart was also selling it under 35 K but it has gone out of stock now. A little research in local market and u may probably find one.
