Hello FMs,

I have recently bought Benq W4100i and I want to upgrade my projector screen as well. I am currently having basic Elite manual pull down screen 100 inches(SRM model I think) but It has some fungal patches and they are clearly visible and distracting my viewing experience.

My preference is motorized screen as fixed screen is not possible in my room.
Room is partially dark in the day time so I do not need ALR screen.
Screen should be immune to fungal patches/moisture resistance
Should be good for both 2D and 3D content. Just an FYI, W4100i has less local contrast ratio(1500:1).
Viewing distance from screen is 10 to 11 feet. Can I go for 120 inch?
Budget is around 40K.

Please suggest.

You can check with elite and clear vision. For 10-11 feet I would suggest 100 inch
Thanks much for your response.

I see some reporting issues with motorised/manual screens as they are prone to wrinkles in long term usage. Are tab tension screens a good investment for long term? Unfortunately, fixed screen is not an option for me.

Manual definitely is prone to wrinkles and alignment issues. Motorised not sure and should be good enough. It would cost you around 25-30k and if it lasts 5 years also good enough. Tab tension would cost you around 80k or even more.

Agree with you.

Is 1.1 gain matt white fine to preserver colors and brightness of W4100(3200 lumens). I found a model from Elite.

should be. Check clear view cv 120 MQ. My friend recently got it for his hall and using it with BenQ 7100. Costed him 28400 only and said it’s very good.

Good to know. Can I get his number if possible?

I got the Clearview distributor number from their insta page.

If you are in banglore better check with local dealer. Reason being is that my friends screen was damaged during shipping and the local dealer is getting it replaced.

I have a grand view 120 inch for almost 15 years now. No dedicated HT room and all..so it just works as I am not very picky. Since i have the room, thought would go bigger and hence want to graduate to 165 inches.

Got this from Amazon. Can I get a better deal? would going to a brick and mortar in Bangalore be helpful?

Try Pioneer Screens in Mumbai. I have a120 inch grand view from them and later a 100 inch screen material which I used for a diy screen. The building they were housed in was very dilapidated. Hope they are around still
Thank you. Did you mean Liberty Grandview screens from a dealer called Pioneer screens?
