Projectors - Bangalore

The projectors i usually get to see are EPSON TW6100, Benq W1070. With some calls, figured a lack of decent service network in India is a problem.

I see LG, Panasonic, Hitachi, NEC coming in. How good are they?

Based on a budget of 1L, which projector brand/model do you suggest?

My requirements for a 450 sq.ft room are:

FULL HD (1920X1080). I have seen 1920x1200 (WUXGA) from Panasonic.
Vertical/hortizontal lens shift
lumens (1000 and above).
screen size i am seeking is either 9x5 or 10x6
atleast 3k hours for lamp life

However LED projectors claim 10k hours but very few models available here.

I don't think LED technology has matured yet in the Projector industry.
DLP and LCD still rule the roost.

Today I think the only + with LED is lamp life. On all other factors no LED projector has come out as the leader.

In my case a Proj with 3.5k hrs lamp life is acceptable.

In my opinion, a project can never replace a TV on the convenience perspective. So this leaves the Projector only for watching movies or some sports match etc..
For all else the TV it is.

Say if one watches 3 moves a week on an avg , taking 2.5 hrs the avg duration of a movie, you can watch 1.4k movies for the Proj lamp life.

So this will last you for the next 8yrs.

Besides Epson, Benq, Acer u can look at optoma it's good projector u will find experience in this forum .

How good is the Egate K8 Kandy?? 3 LED Projector....I have heard good and bad about these projectors Are they worth the money paid for it??
